    Missouri Survey on Non-Resident Hunting

In this instance if Missouri changes the laws you’d be correct but Iowa has been a draw state based on preference points for probably as long as any of us has owned land here (possibly it’s always been that way) and that has not changed. It might have gone from 0 points 30 years ago to 6 points...

    HF 2657 - special lottery for non-residents

Skips done as much or more than anyone to protect Iowas deer herd. Sounds like your upset things didn’t go your way, don’t worry we’ll keep fighting to make sure they never do.

    Retrieving game law

Yea you lost me on this, not sure how this correlates to private property rights at all.

    Retrieving game law

I disagree, even tho the rancher was being a dick not letting him retrieve the elk, it’s the ranchers private property that he bought and pays taxes on and nobody including the government should be able to tell him who he has to let on his property.

    Retrieving game law

You’re 100 percent right, but it should also be at your neighbors discretion if you’re allowed to enter their property. Fence sit all you want but the state should not be able to force you to allow someone to access your land for any reason, who’s responsible if someone gets hurt while tracking...

    IW 2026 Poll Results

Game warden told me of 15 that were shot from the road last year and head hacked in a premo neighborhood right next to his house! Nobody is out patrolling at 2 am and cameras cover very little even if you run a ton of them. Would actually be extremely hard to catch someone if they just randomly...

    IW 2026 Poll Results

A neighbor to a farm I use to own in one of the most highly managed areas of Monroe county also owns land in the Amana colonies, we joked about why he would come down there to hunt because he killed way bigger bucks in the colonies. Also that area of Monroe county and where my current farm is in...

    IW 2026 Poll Results

I have a friend that’s done this multiple times, including this past season. I’ll tell Skip who it is so you can arrange that dinner.

    Decatur County Trespasser

No unfortunately, shouldn’t take long to find out who it was with that side by side. Not the smartest vehicle to trespass with.

    Decatur County Trespasser

Anybody recognize this side by side in the Highpoint-Woodland area of Decatur county? Decided to take a ride thru my farm today and I’d love to talk to them.

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

The ones that have the genetics to be 180+ are usually killed before they ever get a chance to get there. The reason they’re killing lower scoring old bucks is because they are the only ones that make it to that age. Lee manages to the absolute top level on thousands of acres and still didn’t...

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

With the amount of people that sit on Lees fence line, I bet 95% of the good genetic bucks never see their 5th birthday. Marks hunting camp is like an outfitter with all the guys they have so very few of those deer get past 5 either. I’m not sure if 50% would be 180 but I am sure we’ll never...

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

Would need to lease or buy the tillable around it or in 10 years you’ll have a food plot on every side of it.

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

My farm and the surrounding area is loaded with deer, bucks and does but there’s still no giants. This is the second farm I’ve owned that population is not an issue so I’m not sure that bringing up the population is the sole solution. We would need a surplus of great genetic bucks to...
