Timber guys...?

I just cut down an ash tree due to it threatening my cabin if ever was to fall in a storm.
It was a live tree and from end to end (pics) it's 38.5 feet with zero wood pull from the cut end.
Cut end is 23" at the smallest diameter and the top end is 17".

Very straight and solid log.
I was going to cut it up for firewood but being is such a rare ( for here) log, I figger there may be value to it other then firewood?
Any opinions on this?

Nice tree but not exceptional. The way it looks it wouldn’t probably even grade into a veneer log. Add to the fact there is only one making it less attractive to any timber buyers. Firewood might be the only option unless you could find someone with a small milling operation to make something more sentimental for you

Nice log, but probably not a big money maker IMO. But at 38' long you would definitely yield a good amount of lumber.

I would suspect that a pro would not want to mess with one log...can you buck it into 4 sections and take it somewhere to sell it?

Probably could Daver. But I have no use for the lumber.
I kinda figgered there is a bit over a cord of firewood there and around here, that's about 400.00$.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to buck them up in 18" cobbs and lift them onto my log splitter. Lol.
Ain't as strong as I used to be.:(

Thanks guys.

Side note, made 3 big brush piles from the top limbs. Great for cottontail n tweety birds.

They just did the neighbors and took like 100ish out of his- he didn’t get squat. I’ve got 15 that are HUGE, great quality…. They said wasn’t worth their time ‍♂️
I made more off of 6 walnuts (and I needed them gone- so win win)

I would put a post on Facebook market place on. sawmill groups the size and the full lenght should appeal to someone. Ash is getting to be a rare wood in many areas would be a shame to make firewood out of it
