Oh and to be clear I also have thermal and use it. I’m not saying it necessarily needs to go I’m just asking how can it be made safer? Unless you have a thermal monocular you have to point the gun at anything you want to identify.
Thermaling just presents some different issues because they’re...
Right, but for some random guy out walking his farm checking traps to get shot because someone thought he was a coyote. I think it highlights how some of these cheaper thermals have way too poor of resolution to be lobbing rounds.
I feel like there must be some sort of way to wear something...
I had kind of a crazy idea about maybe turning the mangey ones loose from now on when I catch them. Curious what everyone’s thoughts are on this, if the goal is to have fewer coyotes wouldn’t a guy be better off with the sick ones spreading it ? I’ve never been able to bring myself to let one...
I’m kind of surprised more laws a haven’t come out regulating thermals. I know of atleast 2 instances where people were shot because someone thought they were a coyote.
Yeah I guess it just comes down to what it is and what’s being abused at the time. If I get pulled over with my 12 gauge and steel shot November 1 I doubt the game warden will accuse me of poaching deer with it. But if I have a .350 legend and a thermal that should probably throw a red flag.
We...
I sure hope not!!
So far more people have voted against it than for it, they’d need a Joe Biden style vote counting system to think this is actually what people want.
Especially if the fines and licensing costs are way lower than proposed and the cool down period is less than 48 hours.
For...
Also I can’t speak for anyone else, but the change from slugs, to straight walls, to .35 and up. And going from triple 7 ,to blackhorn, to smokeless has only made me more selective about what I want to shoot. I shoot far fewer deer now than I did party hunting years ago with slug guns.
Banning smokeless powder during late season would in turn make AR pistols illegal during that season though …. So I do like that!!
Unless someone can find load data for 450 bushmaster with blackhorn 209
Radios aren’t legal during the gun seasons because people would use them to hunt deer, we can’t shine a spotlight and have a gun in the vehicle because people would use them to shoot deer.
The argument “the bad guys will do it anyway “ always gets thrown around and then we complain about the...
Sure seems like late muzzleloader gets beat on constantly, while 2 gun seasons kill 40,000 deer to late muzzleloaders 6-7,000. Bow season also kills around 20,000 (landowner tags excluded in these figures). I’d really love to see the exact break down of shed bucks shot late muzzleloader vs other...
Thank you!! Funny how nobody wants to talk about the times one buck didn’t work out. It’s the fact that any hunter can hunt every single season til he’s done that has a lot to do with it.
I think if you call for the drone your tag should be punched before it leaves the ground. If you’re that confident you killed the deer you shouldn’t need it anyway.
The cons outweigh the pros by a long shot, side note a buddy of mine told me about a piece of equipment that can detect drone flights within a 10 kilometer radius and will record the drones remote frequency or ID or something so that it can be identified.
I was told it would be less than...
So I’m not positive here on this so chime in if I’m wrong, I’ve been told by smart people over the years that a couple of feet of dirt will filter a ton of stuff out of water.
One thing I do like about tile is when it is a spring that sometimes runs across the top of the ground sometimes...
