This coming weekend I have a couple projects planned.
1. Im planning to hand transplant cedars along a border of my new farm. I have plenty of small cedars I can dig up and transplant. Im wondering how far apart I should space them.
2. I'd also like to try and get a jump on getting some...
I got the same word for word reply from Larry.
I replied to that letting him know he is not putting the residents of that state he was elected to represent first, instead he is favoring nonresidents.
Pretty cool and good idea. I see those areas up against blowdowns and brush etc that have a lot of grass etc get bedded in heavily in the winter often.
Agree that Sand seems to be way ahead and about the only name I hear of much. Feenstra seems to be the republican leader at this point.
Sand seems to be the only one that everyone has heard of. I really respect what he has done as state auditor, his office has uncovered a lot basic theft...
Possible. Not to be a debby downer, but someones going to have to spend a lot of time and miles to find a shed that is worth a decent amount. You can make a lot more money working at mcdonalds for a couple months in the winter than going shed hunting.
I was there both days.
I really wish the crowd that was there Saturday had been there Sunday. If you do this next year consider switching the topics around so that the bigger Saturday crowd is there for "state of whitetails today". IMO that is the more important topic and you will have a bigger...
Someone has to find a pretty significant amount of antlers to make decent money. 20-30 sheds is pretty decent amount to find a winter, but thats not worth much money. I think its more just being plastered all over social media & youtube just gets more people out trying it.
Good luck, with that many deer wintering there and if no ones been there you should have a great day.
Shed hunting down here is crazy anymore. Everything gets hit. It used to be a lot more fun that it is now. I'm hoping its just a short term fad for a lot of people. Going out and finding...
When Ive seen antler tips that blunt, broke off, brittle/chalky on the tips I've assumed the deer was sick or diseased etc. I had a mature buck on cam a couple years ago all fall and he was all over, seemed healthy, but his one side was brittle/chalky looking and the tips were blunted/broke...
Shed hunting last weekend I noticed nearly every single one of these type of trees had a big nice rub on it. Not sure if that is because there wasnt much for rubbing size trees or if the bucks really liked this specific type of tree. Im thinking its some sort of crabapple? Maybe worth planting...
I listened to this one. This was good. Ive listened to quite a few podcasts that you have been on skip and it is all great stuff. I like watching them on youtube, funny to see your eyes moving back and forth thinking lol
2/14 & 2/15. 17.1 miles hiked this past weekend. Just one shed found. Small 4 pt. Saturday headed an hour 30 south to no hunting park in south central Iowa hoping that might up the odds. Its where I found the one. I dont think I'll ever be back at that park though, just an absoulte jungle for...
Theres a good handful of small vineyards around metros and Ive seen some lavendar places in recently. Ive assumed these places are just more of a side hobby and not a sole income. Corn & beans are 99% of the ag landscape though. Of course there are cattle/pasture as well.
