Been successful with picardin lotion. Use on the knees down, then tuck pants into rubber boots. Then spray deet on outside.

If you don't have open soil, throwing seed is a waste of time. Personally, I'd just mow the broadleaf weeds.
Then lightly disc or till in the fall, seed with cereal rye and clover seed. Pack back in.
A tandem disc can keep the ground level, if setup correctly. A center sweep kit really keeps ridging to a minimum. As does making sure the front is buried slightly deeper so the rear outer discs don't create a heavy furrow.
But a chain harrow with some weight would definitely smooth out if...
Agree 100%. I don't run cell cameras either for the same reason.
I do enjoy running cameras however, just for an inventory and past data purposes. Still get the kid at Christmas feeling pulling those cards..
This is getting into somewhat of a deep dive, but I think its important to note there are two different schools of thought when it comes to assessing soil for growth potential.
One is strictly reading the soil test, and just addressing the levels of nutrients to reach sufficient needs for crop...

Hard to say. My last photo of him was December 15th, checking a scrape.
He did look like he lost weight, but all the other bucks did as well. Normal post rut type condition.. No ribs, etc showing.
