Tracking wounded deer with leashed dogs HF82

Not sure if I'd pay for the service, depends a lot on the cost. I'd like to say I'd treat it the same for a buck or doe. Most of the deer I've tracked have been does as I've shot way more of them than bucks, especially bigger bucks. This seems like it could be a good tool for when those blood...

If deer & deer hunting disappeared what would you do?

I remember one of my grandpa's telling me he was about 15 when he saw his first deer in the wild. He grew up on a farm in an area that was not lacking for habitat, so that really amazed me. Also, I was thinking a little more while reading other responses here...this is somewhat the reality...

If deer & deer hunting disappeared what would you do?

Start a squirrel hunting outfitting business. Ok, probably try hunting other animals (small game, birds, elk). Definitely more coyote hunting. Get more into horses and helping on the cattle farm. Save more money? Probably not with these other options listed.

    Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Heard on the radio this morning that it is Squirrel Appreciation Day. I know that might be blasphemy on here, but thought it could lead to some good fun if members want to post their favorite pics or memes involving these furry critters. So, show some "love" for the squirrel today!

    Congrats!

Just wanted to take a little time to congratulate all of those who were successful in their endeavors this year, whatever they ended up with (even if nothing). I've been holding back on viewing most of the threads in the harvest forum until recently, but have to say there are a lot of good...

    Public Trail Cam Set-Up??

Honestly, I'd have a hard time putting cameras up on public land. If I did, I'd go as cheap as possible on the camera itself. Maybe put out a decoy camera that people will likely see, then hide another one better to get the same area (bonus if it gets the decoy camera in view), so people...

    2018 - 19 season perspectives

For me, season was about par for the course. No big buck sightings. Did encounter one buck a couple times in the same area, but decided he could use another year (maybe 4.5 and needing some growth) and neither encounter provided me a good opportunity anyway. Saw another possible 4.5 yr old...

    Handgun for deer

I'd like to say so, but can't honestly. Guessing I flinched or got too excited as it wasn't that far off when target shooting.

When do you guys pull your cameras?

I usually leave mine until end of March-mid April to catch any bucks still holding antlers. A couple will be over hay and others on trails to food.

2019 Farm Projects, What are yours?

Hopefully will build a mobile blind or two (dad decided on a use for a couple trailers/wagons he has had for awhile and I have some old siding from a barn I might try to use up). Need to reevaluate a few stand locations and make some tweaks. Need to do some brush management (spray, burn, NUKE!).

    Entry Times

Just wondering when others prefer to enter to your stand. For mornings, I used to try to be in the stand at least an hour before daylight, but have heard people (Winke for example) state they like to have some daylight as they enter to see deer before spooking them. The past couple of years...

Gun Pushing Deer Hunters VS Stand, management & bowhunters....

When I started hunting, I only shotgun hunted. Usually it was drives with my brothers, dad, and grandpa, but sometimes we would join in on a larger group that hunted the same land if they needed to hunt the same season as us. I always liked it when the larger group was around because they were...
