    Mitch Rompola buck

While nothing is impossible, the entire circumstance around this deer make it a huge pile of BS. People always say that Mitch was a quiet guy that did not want to have his name out there. Yet he had entered many deer into the record books and many described him as a self proclaimed expert...

    1 Buck state In iowa??

Hard to answer this accurately as I have been here for 15 years and we have gone through a ton of changes. I can comment on my personal experience as well as my good friends I hunt with here. 1. One buck rule has applied the entire 15 years I have been here. 2. We have implemented rifles (any)...

    Heartbroken

Bummer. Found many of those in the last 20yrs shed hunting, always stings. Always wonder how they end up that way too.

    1 Buck state In iowa??

We have it here in Indiana, only thing that has saved our buck quality as we can use any weapon here (full crossbow and rifle). If we were killing 2 bucks we would have 0 left

New clover plot in heavy weeded area

Thanks fellas. I was questioning the frost seed as there is a lot of grass/weeds still matted down. Sounds like the fall plot might be the best route although I do like the thought of getting things rolling in April/may

New clover plot in heavy weeded area

Question for the folks that do this best. I want to put in a new kill plot 2/3 acre or so. The area is open so no problem in terms of growth. However it is historically weedy and grassy. What is the best route for a new plot? Frost seed it now or wait and plant it traditional in a couple months...

    Scammers, Spammers and Thieves

Ishi I love it!!! I do all kinds of things, including talking at 140 decibels that is fun. When i answer on my work phone they ask if Mr Mike Hock is there as that is the name they have on file . I have literally kept them on the phone for 45+ minutes at work while doing other stuff. My...

    I HATE COYOTES!!!!!!!!

Shoot every one I see. They are overrunning one of my farms and I can honestly say it has the deer a bit spooked. I don’t hunt them but the last 3-4 years I have shot at least one of this farm during deer season! I need to do a full clean out!

$48k per acre - iowa farm sold to football players!

Who says you can’t blow $100M. These guys certainly try sometimes. I hope for their sake there is more to the story and a true return on investment in there somewhere

    Drones for deer recovery??

I don’t see a problem with recovery, can’t see how there would be legality in that unless you were flying around over neighbors property. I do know that many states have put laws into place about actively moving deer with them, I think most are illegal. Could be a nice little money maker if...

    Racoon Management changes for iowa???

I watched a train of 13 of them come thru during archery season this year on one of my Indiana farms. I try to kill everyone of them when I have a gun in hand but I wasn't about to waste $200 in arrows and broadheads that day. This farm is overloaded, they farmer shoots a dozen or so a year by...

    Euro Mount Display

Never really have figured out to do with my Euro mounts and have always just had them laying on the floor in the rooms where my mounts are. Today I put this together. Pretty easy actually, a nice piece of driftwood and some 4” wood screws at the right angles. Thought it was pretty good looking
