Assuming you have the power in 2024...

And that's on monitored county, state, federal land. Imagine the rate of damage on land with zero park ranger/DNR support

Assuming you have the power in 2024...

You will see more CRP converted to crops if you get that wish. Many owners aren't going to want strangers on their ground. It's a huge liability. It's also a recipe for arguments and confrontations to break out. Beyond that, in our case, the only way to access our CRP is to cross thru our row...

    Iowa Cell Camera rules

I'm only presenting a point of view and not arguing for or against either position. The perceived problem with cell cams on private is deer are transient and don't belong to just one person's farm. Cell cams have the potential to eliminate fair chase. Fair for both the animal and the others in...

    Iowa Cell Camera rules

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has tabled its proposed policy position regarding trail cameras on public land to allow for more public input on the issue during its wildlife rules meetings, held across the state in February. There are no changes to how trail cameras can be used on...

NR party hunting to be eliminated

This is the fear I have. The outfitters are going to apply even more pressure to get tags designated just for their disposal. They have already been trying for such tags. NRLO also will add to their push, but they have a more legitimate claim to access the resource

In summary, previously it was allowed because it was never explicitly forbidden. Now, it is forbidden on the decision made by the committee that combined the two chapters when they saw party hunting in the resident section

NR party hunting to be eliminated

Correct that deer drives and party hunting heavily overlap. In our group, when someone tags a buck they push for the remainder of the drives instead of blocking/shooting. In our group, if we have enough deer by Saturday, we are done and don't hunt Sunday/Monday. And, we know our target number...

NR party hunting to be eliminated

Either you care enough to do something about or you just want to complain. We have a rule where I am from, you only get to complain once. After that, it's up to you to work on a solution. Learn to process your own deer if you are worried about putting a locker owner out of business. Get the...

NR party hunting to be eliminated

There are resources for reporting this and you can even get a reward if you desire or you can report it anonymously. Report the processor if you don't know the hunters. Any bad actors should be penalized. https://programs.iowadnr.gov/tip/PublicTIP/Step1 Changing the rules on deer drives...

NR party hunting to be eliminated

You are very much confusing party hunting (cross tagging) with group hunting (deer drives). A dozen untagged deer is 100% NOT party hunting seeing as how they are without tags. It may be the result of deer drives or it may be the result of road hunting, bottom line is no tag is POACHING.

NR party hunting to be eliminated

The DNR didn't make the change, why would they see a firing? Our group has had two NR doe tag hunters the past decade. I don't see them changing their plans for attending again this year. Consider those two tags sold for as long as they are offered. They will, however, pass on a buck now and...

NR party hunting to be eliminated

Party hunting =\= Group hunting Party hunting is defined as cross tagging, pooling the tags among the party of hunters. Non residents are now only allowed to use their own tag on their own harvest. Once they tag out, they are done shooting. Group hunting is defined as hunting in a group, that...
