My (totally uneducated) guess is; deer bit off the top of the ear during or shortly after pollination and you end up with some fungus in the exposed area... Hopefully someone with more agronomy knowledge than me will chip in and correct me...

Don't necessarily disagree, but not a chance in Hades that will happen... Neither a penalty that stiff, and certainly not sharing $$$ with landowner. Totally agree that $25 is nowhere near enough to dissuade those who would break the law!

Agree, that the way the link to the law reads it could be interpreted that a shotgun or muzzy could be used during any season. I don't see where it actually says "in the appropriate season"? Not sure I'm in favor of that! Agree, that nonambulatory hunters should be allowed to use "any legal...
Just for the fun of it, I Googled "no trespassing purple" paint and got lots of hits. o_O It is for real! Amazon has a great deal on Rust-Oleum "No Hunting Purple" paint. Who knew??? :rolleyes:
Agree with changing the law so that if you don't have permission, you are trespassing!!!
