Question on spraying Cleth and Butyrac on young clover. I have sprayed it quite a bit on mature clover but never young. Late spring this year I drilled clover around timber edges. It ranges from 2” to 6” tall but has not spread yet (can still easily see drill rows). It is really weedy with...
I have limited experience, but would say 2-4 weeks. I sprayed mix of cloth and butyrac a few weeks ago and the grass really isn’t brown but also seems to have stopped growing.
Was thinking about setting a treated pine post, 2x6 “outrigger” and hang a rope like I have seen others do. Most all of these posts are 8’. Not sure how tall it needs to be? 2’ in ground and 6’ out of ground? How far above ground to bottom rope? Last year I set out cut willow trees with...
Skip, I didn’t read through all the pages you posted, but gather you anticipate the CRP rent rates to go down soon? Have some family farms (not in my name) that I have been trying to persuade into CRP. If consensus is rates are going down maybe I should push harder….
I posted on another forum topic that I have recently drilled RC Big Rock, not sure if it is up or not because it is buried in annual grass and some broadleaf. Is it safe to spray Quinclorac right now or would it damage young switch if it has emerged?
I drilled some RC about 2 weeks ago and have a bad flush of annual grass, not sure if I have any switch coming. Just keep it clipped is my only option? Have some Duracor on hand for the broadleafs if they come
I have a few earth holes that I dug with sister. Deer seem to hit them hard certain times of year but not as much other times. I put them in waterway drainage type areas where they naturally fill. Never tried a tank
FYI I learned the hard way that spraying can be hard on fawns, not just mowing. Sprayed a plot last weekend and ran over a fawn with UTV and killed it. Didn’t even know I hit it until the next pass. Was not much weed height, shocked I didn’t see it, they can really hide!
Interested in this response as well. I have been hand spot spraying thistles in CP25 and monarch seeding thinking there was nothing I could boom spray without killing all broadleaf forbs
This past weekend I was drilling soybeans into killed off tall rye. Jumped a little fawn that was bedded in the rye. Thankfully it got up before I ran it over.
Roto tiller enough? Or deeper than that? Little bit concerned about erosion if tilled in a few areas, some are fairly steep although the steep sections are fairly small.
I am getting ready to drill RC Big Rock into a couple areas that have SEVERE burdock weed problems. I have sprayed the heck out of these patches last few years with gly and 2,4-D but the burdock keeps coming back badly. How should I handle this? Spray one final time with gly and 2,4-D right...
Is this project all planted now. I recently finished a 36 acre tree planting project. Getting plenty of good rains, hopefully they continue through the summer!
