This is the second beef the new owner has done for us and we have been satisfied with the previous one. This one was an old stock cow so we had the majority of it ground which ran up the bill, but I was expecting as much. More work to cut/grind/tube. Got some ribeye, sirloins and NY strips...

I picked up a beef at the Tipton Locker yesterday afternoon. I was surprised to see that he offers to do a Euro prep on your deer head for $100 if you have them process your deer. FYI, for those in the area. Not sure I've seen another locker offer this.

During shotgun season one year, my friend jumped a buck and hammered it, DRT. Started skinning and he was green head to toe, trashed him. My opinion is he was septic from a previous wound. Another year, I got trail camera pics of a buck with a festering wound on a hind leg all summer long...

Way back when I food plotted, a local seed dealer would give away opened bags that other clients had returned. Most are treated so you are not supposed to trash them. Maybe he was the exception. Might get a later start on planting, but if it is food plot, any bushel loss isn't a huge financial...

If he stays close to home and is somewhat protected, I'd consider passing. If there are tree stands on every property surrounding him, someone will be tempted. Hate to shoot a deer worried that someone else might. Usually how it happens, though. Only you can make that call.
