I shoot TC Shockwaves (yellow tip). These are basically the same as SST's but I have had good luck with blood trails and short track jobs. I also shot the TC Shockwave blue tip and these didn't expand as well.

Go with a trailer. I've done both and you will want a trailer in the long run. Like others have said...an ATV takes up all of your bed space. A lawn mower would be a pain and probably dangerous to load in a truck bed.

I have a couple of these old girls that can pick me out no matter what. Then they can't just run....they have to stand there for 10 minutes and blow just out of range.

This is right on with my experience. I went yesterday evening. Sat on a pinch leading to a corn and bean field. Not a single deer on either.
