Its tough if you are the wind freak we all are. I too dont have good S wind stands either but have been taking chances with this calmer wind weve had. Have seen plenty of action and two mature bucks cruising down wind and they didnt pay any attention to it. Imo get in your best stands regardless...

Inbetween two doe bedding areas, been in the stand since noon just had my first action...3 yr old 11 pt with split brows cruised by and jumped a ditch. Could have sent an arrow but needs a year. Was definitely in the mood for a date. Hope the action keeps picking up

In my life I have witnessed the mature big boys out and about during daylight from november 10th through thanksgiving. You just have to be in the right tree at the right hour....thats why the rut is the best time of the year for me...it can happen at any moment!
