Chipterp has it right. If your in southern marion county find a different area, those boys down there play different. Dad lived north of pershing and the locals ran coyote hounds all through deer season

I would hold off on shooting him now, it seems like a lot of bucks didn't grow to there full potential this year with the drought.
I had a short tine buck show up in 2018, best guess he was at least 5,12 points and around 150. He hung around the neighborhood for 3 years and got bigger every...
Daver, it sounds like you have a good plan for a cool hobby. I saw some with a chainsaw mill, mostly live edge slabs for my own woodworking.
You probably allready know this but some of the ugliest trees have the coolest grain when you open them up.
Daver that’s pretty cool. I messed around with a chainsaw mill a few years ago, sawed a bunch of walnut live edge slabs. I built several coffee tables and end tables.
Any chance you need a log trailer with a grapple?

I shot this deer this weekend. The chest cavity was full of bright yellow jello looking stuff. No odor and it wasn’t puss. Any idea what causes this, I killed one a couple years ago that looked the same inside.

Probably not possible for most people, but if you can buy ground you can live on your way ahead in my opinion. It’s easier to get to know the neighbors and become part of the neighborhood. This obviously doesn’t work for people that own multiple farms.

That’s an interesting study and I’ve read it before. I’m not sure south texas compares that closely to Iowa for food sources though. I think alot of it is pretty barren country.
I do agree more bucks die of natural mortality than most people are aware of, the EHD outbreaks have only made it...
There are some mills in Missouri that specialize in cedar. Google cedar log buyers Missouri and several come up. You could check with your district forester, they might know a local buyer.

55 acres of flat crop ground be me brought 21,500 an acre a couple weeks ago. A 40 acre rec type piece brought 8000 an acre, a couple of doctors bought it to build on.

Nothing puts a smile on my face like a dead coyote! I smoked one from the yard a couple weeks ago that came over the neighbors hill while I was choring.
I don't bow hunt so no input there. I do live on my farm and the wife and I drive around several nights a week to watch deer.
Trail cam pics went from 100 plus a week to less than 10 a week this year, some weeks i only had 2-3 pics. The best buck on camera this year might go 150, and I've only...
I shot a doe a couple years ago that the chest cavity was full of what looked like bright yellow jello. Not puss and no smell to it but we did not eat that one.
We have killed several the last few years that the lungs were attached to the chest cavity. I asked a veterinarian about it and he...
Awesome getting the kids into trapping. That is a nice otter, sure miss the days they were worth $100.
My best memories are from the trapline with good friends over the years, and skinning for an old country fur buyer.
If your CO won't pursue this I would talk to the Sherriff and possibly your county attorney. Someone in the law enforcement chain has to be willing to do something.
Drove through nw West Virginia today. Must be rifle season here. Close to every 10 th vehicle we met was a truck towing an atv or utv loaded with hunting gear. Or dead deer, saw several decent for this area. Also apparently its ok to park along the interstate and walk up the mountain to hunt out...
