I’m in the same boat!! It seems like a very few NRLOs would even qualify and this wouldn’t cause a new NRLO land rush! I think these tags would cost the same as any NR tag so it would not be the same as a resident LOT.
Wow! What a great way for the NRLO to be able to hunt his/her own property without causing a big run on land purchases by NRs. A five year wait, 80 acres minimum and no gov income would eliminate most NRLOs. Maybe I would be able to hunt my property 10 more times instead of 2!
So is all this rain good or bad for the EHD? I found a dead buck on my property outside Albia a few days ago.
Looks like close to freezing by the end of next week. Yeah!
I own land and am a NR. I’ve been hunting Iowa long enough to have seen the archery doe tag disappear, the points needed go from 2 to 4 years, the buy a point system and cost soar. I’m getting old enough to only have 3 or 4 more archery hunts before I’m too old at best. On the years I don’t draw...
Not sure I understand how shooting a deer on your own property, butchering it and then tossing the carcass in one of your ravines is a problem. If it was infected it would have left prions all over your property already.
No non-res archery again so hunted first shotgun doe. It rained on 12” of snow so I sat in a ground blind the whole time. Shot a doe right away with my muzzy and left. I didn’t get to enjoy being outdoors!
When your stuck with a 5 day window you can get screwed by the weather
If you are interested in Redfish or offshore yellow fin tuna head to Venice, LA. It is an amazing fishery. Accomadations are pretty basic and there isn’t much else to do there. I go every October when it is a little cooler. PM me if you want more details
