It is going to be a good fall!
I was hunting in Otter Tail County in West Central MN on my 130 acre farm (woods, CRP, food plots, some swamp)... the county known for it's lakes (1000 lakes in the county) but also produced a lot of nice bucks.
We got out early and had quite a bit of action. This 8 point with some junk around his base, came in close to last light scent checking for does. He literally walked under my stand, his rack almost hit the ladder.
Once he stepped out to about 8 yards, I put the pin on him and shot and hit him in the right spot (opposite shoulder). The Rocket Hammerhead did the job. He went about 50 yards and crashed.
Hauled him out of the woods, what a work out, big body weighed around 200 lbs. dressed. Score was just shy of 130....
Now it is time to concentrate on Iowa, and hopefully upgrade my buck for the contest? Nothing better than bow hunting!!
