    Movement Update...

Pushed a few deer out walking to my stand a little before 3. Pretty sure they were bedded fairly close to my stand, couldn't tell what they were. Had a 125ish 8 point walk by my stand around 4:45. Wouldn't have shot him anyway, but it would be nice if the wind would lay down for damn day...

    Movement Update...

Started my vacation yesterday. Hunted in the nw corner of a piece of timber holding lots of acorns. Haven't had a trail cam out for over week so didn't know what to expect. Had a doe and yearling button buck come right in and feed all around my stand. The button buck was right under my stand...

    No Shave November

I'm in for about the first half of November. Gotta shave one more time in the morning then I can get away with it at work for Thursday and Friday. Then vacation starts for me, 9 days off. So i'm good until the 13th or so.

Someone tell me Im not crazy

Looks like a good mainframe 12 to me, but yes IMO he looks younger. 1 more year, a little tine length put on, and some mass and you'll have a brute.

It's time! I'm finally outta here, good luck!

Good luck to all. I'm off for 9 days starting Saturday. I have only made it out one time this year and it was the first week of October. Been shooting some geese instead. The bow will be the primary weapon of choice starting Saturday though. I'm going to try to hunt at least morning or...

    Put a good one down

Nice deer Nate. I wasn't for sure if it was you or not cause I was looking at the thread on my phone so pics were small. Then I checked my facebook. Sure as hell it was you. Nice deer.

He shall be dubbed Mr. Crabz

I love crab claws on a buck. Looks like a shooter to me.

    This weekend.

Maybe I'm a pansy, but sitting all day in a tree stand sounds like the worst thing ever to me. Last year during the first 2 weeks of November on my days off, I was hunting in the morning until about 9 and then coming back for the afternoon at about 3 o'clock. I bumped deer once in a while...

Oh ok gotcha. Well good to meet you. I'm pretty new at the bowhunting thing. Mostly a duck and goose hunter my whole life. I'm almost 25 and live in West Des Moines. I'm an assistant manager at a Hyvee full time. Tyler Miller. Good to meet ya. Lots of good info on this site.

    Morning or evening sits?

What's being more productive for you guys? I've only been out once, in the evening about a week and a half ago. Just debating whether I want to get up early and hunt the morning or try an evening sit.

    Bone Crusher is back!!

That looks like a good one. Is the time stamp right on the camera? On his feet in the early afternoon? That's awesome. Good luck with him.

    waiting for the front

Dang, looks like a nice one. You'll probably get another poke at him. Hunted geese all weekend. Hammered 'em both days so that's a plus, but the bowhunting/deer movement is SLOW.....at least where I'm hunting. I've only been out once and that was Thursday evening. Didn't see any deer. The...

    My 235" Trail Cam Deer

Yes, I'm curious also. My buddies used to live out in nw Johnston, just northeast of the sod farm out there. I remember seeing some hogs behind their house just a few years ago. It was always a big cornfield/bean field, but I think is unfortunately being developed. Had some good goose hunts...

    Thompson Center Pro Hunter XT

I'm looking to get a muzzleloader also. Scheels has Omega's for $100 off their original prices. The stainless steel/camo ones are $430 and the same thing except the Dream Season models are $400 I believe. But they don't have the speedbreach. I'm leaning towards getting one anyway, but my...

    Hoyt Ultratec For Sale/Trade

Guys, I've got an older bow to sell. It is a 2001ish Hoyt Ultratec. 29" draw length and 50-60 lb. draw weight. It has winner's choice string/cables, quiktune drop-away, 3 pin copper john sight, and a 6 arrow quiver on it. I've got the pins set at 15, 25, and 35 yards. I'm not sure what to...

    Late Muzz and moon phases...

Hmmm sounds like a theory that may have some truth behind it. That makes sense to me. On a side note, my dad is going to let me use his muzzleloader so I can hold off on buying one for right now. :) Does anyone know if you can take your muzzleloader and bow with you hunting if you have a...

    Late Muzz and moon phases...

DannyBoy, I hope your theory is right. I still have my bow tag to fill (as well as 2 doe bow tags.....shouldn't have bought those obviously lol), but I plan on hunting late muzzy also as of right now. First order of business, somehow stealthily getting my dad's muzzleloader from him or buying...
