Does anyone know where I can get a plaque shaped like the state of Iowa? I'm looking to mount my skull/antlers to it...and wanting it to be around 13-14 inches tall, and a proportionate width.
I've tried calling some of the awards/trophy places here in Des Moines, and all of them are...
I shot mine on 11/18...and I was grunting up a storm. Started at 4:00pm...by 4:30 I was grunting 5 quick times every few minutes because I heard deer movement. Around 5:00pm I had a nice 8 point step out, looking for the doe...needless to say he got arrowed.
I've had decent success with...
What about this one...

I had a successful season, shot my biggest deer to date, but there's things I'd change.
1. A few of my stands need moved to the northern part of a creek bed. Countless hours in those stands, with no results.
2. Put more time in before the season. Scouting, running cameras, etc.

It took longer because I was a complete noob at this and only skinned the head. Didn't remove any meat, etc before boiling/simmering. Lesson learned for next time...
When I simmered the skull it had powdered Cascade in it as well...? I was hoping that was enough, but figured the 2 hour soak in Dawn wasn't going to hurt anything.
So...cake the 40% on the skull, wrap it with cling wrap and set it close to a heater? How many applications, how long, etc?
And P.S. I got some of the 40% on my finger...and it burnt like hell. I washed my hands twice, and started wearing gloves...LOL
This prepping it for the peroxide cream. I saran wrapped the bases, and applied tape. Also put bags over a "grabbing" point, incase I needed it for any reason.
So I've got a buck I'm wanting to Euro Mount. Here's what I've done so far:
1. Simmered in a "Buck Boiler" for about 12 hours with some Cascade Dish Detergent Powder. (To get meat, etc off skull)
2. Let head soak in boiling hot water (in sink) for 2 hours with some Dawn Dish Soap. (To...
I bought these:

Same problem...wore them a few times in the tree stand, and the stitching is already broke loose on 2 of the fingers. Non-shooting hand at that. They are warm, but I'm already questioning...
1. Thanks everyone...I am truly happy with him.
2. Steeler Nation loud and proud!
3. I'm actually going to work on the Euro Mount today. Borrowed a "Buck Broiler" from a buddy, and going to let him cook up!
4. Good luck to those of you still waiting to fill tags, bow-hunting is truly...
