"One lugs a compound, carries a recurve, but bows like "Inspiration" just float along"
Good pics.
A good day of stump shooting: "I take a dozen arrows and come home with 2 arrows and 6 tips"
I only use bore butter when hunting with my MK 85 & Barnes MZ Expander sabots, reloading can be a little easier with lube.
BTW SB, can't tell much difference. I think the BB may have a better flavor.
I hate to buy what I can make out of trash or free materials.
Ram rod "palm saver" for those nasty sabot reloads. (Don't need one with my "Real" muzzleloads. :D
Old chunk of 2x4 whittled down a bit.
The first time I took some bore butter to the field in cold weather the tube turned to stone.
I like the stuff, but it does not fair well in sub zero hunting temps in the squeeze tube. So I tried something that seems to work well.
I put it into an empty chapstick tube in the warm comforts...
Bravo, many of us do not have the courage to take a step like that, but a master craftsman can always see the beauty within the bulk material.
Keep the candle burning. :way:
Should'nt be to much dirt thrown as "archer" limits the number of people that cast arrows. :D
Been shooting one over for 43 years, because that seems to work for me and that is how my father taught me.
I have shot with many different people with technically different low tech shooting...
Don't be too hard on Dawn Pettengill, she is a very avid supporter of the Right to Carry and Purchase firearms without having to beg your sheriff for a permit. She is actually a legislator that listens to her constituants and cares about a great many things including making common sense business...
I use the cart handle on the tailgate method, but just drag the deer up the (inclined plane) cart and when the deer clears the tailgate the cart drops out. Then I throw the cart in on top of the deer.
Congratulations to Ryan and a great story.
My uncle and bowhunting mentor passed away from cancer in 1977. I inherited some of his gear.
The last 3 deer I have harvested were with cedar arrows that he made back in the 1960's. It means a lot to me to carry his passion into the woods.
Seems like to me that there are a lot of warnings that went along with old BP shotgunning. Sounds like the respect is well deserved.
Nice looking toys there. Keep your powder dry. :D
On the Home Stretch
A couple days of stretching on the bow and some good heated waxings and she will be ready to serve and shoot. A little rusty on the process, but it should last as long as the old one. :way:
Just like riding a bike
My least favorite part is over. Now for the final stretching and twisting. Here is where I find out if my ends are twisted the right directions.
I have had to redo them before when they were out of phase. :(
