    North MO Drought

If there were a way, I know you'd have no shortage of volunteers up here willing to help with the cause. Another 4.7 on Wednesday, brings our total for the last week to somewhere between 12 and 13 inches in our small town, with more forecasted for today  We've been fortunate, but there...

    2018 Canada fishing trip pics

Looks like a blast, and yeah, that's very reasonable for a trip like that. Congrats!! NWBuck

    North MO Drought

We're completely on the other side of it...can't shut the spicket off up here in NW Iowa. Almost everywhere in the immediate area has had at least 2 inches in the last week, and the forecast is for 3-5 more over the next couple of days. My fear now is the new clover plot I've been putting so...

    Hot Deals Thread!

Thanks to Bearman205 for posting this link on the Muddy ProCam 14. I thought they were a good buy at $70, but at $40, it's a no brainer for me. I'm ordering 2. Muddy ProCam 14 NWBuck

Roundup Ready Corn & Soybean Food Plot

A couple of years ago we had a 3 acre plot that was standing water into the first of June. Eventually dried up enough to spray the weed crop, give it a few days, then mowed and disked. Because it was when we could make it work, I planted that plot to beans the morning of the 4th of July...

    Mow now, or wait?

UPDATE... I was thinking maybe I'd post regular updates to this thread for a year or so if it helps someone else. So I decided to mow it yesterday. Was lucky enough to have some good help. The clippings really weren't as bad as I was afraid they'd be, and overall, very glad I mowed it...

    DWGH Farm Projects Thread 2018

Looks like your plots could use a rain! Maybe just the way the pics are showing up. We have bean plots as small as an acre or so, and have never e-fenced them. They do get browse pressure, but still seem to have plenty of beans by late season. We've tried the forage beans, and although...

    Mow now, or wait?

A picture is worth a thousand words, so I thought I'd add a couple pics to a topic that has been discussed on this forum several times this spring. I stopped by my frost seeded clover plot yesterday, or should I say my diversified weed patch :-) But beneath the tangled variety of weeds and...

    Muddy Pro Cam 14

Anybody running one? I see they're selling for $70 through the site and have good reviews. Looking to add a camera or two, and thought this was a great price for a 14 MP. Opinions?? NWBuck

    Best blind for the money

^^^ Agreed. We found one of the Mavericks on closeout at a local Menards a little over a year ago, and ended up buying it very cheap after some bartering :) I bought the mounts for the corner posts and built a short platform just high enough to see over the food plot. Works well, and the...

    Field Size via GPS

That's a bookmark I visit frequently as well. Sometimes even use it in lieu of google earth just because the arial photos are so regularly updated and clear. Takes all the guess work out of food plot size, etc. as well.

Any Double Bull surroundview users yet?

If they were selling the 270 for that price, I'd jump on it. They'll come down in time. I think the most overlooked feature of these blinds (at least in terms of deer hunting) is the black exterior of the oval windows...can't believe other blinds haven't figured this out sooner.

Trail Cam contest April - June 2018

A couple cool pics showed up on the few cams that we left out through the winter... Nice strutter... We get quite a few cat pics on this farm, but this is the biggest we've seen by a fair amount...

    Jake gobbles

It's not 100%, but yeah, that short, broken gobble definitely gives the jakes away. I agree too that some jakes have a very normal sounding gobble. I've noticed that jakes often are silent when there's a tom or two gobbling nearby. NWBuck
