I have been thinking about getting a good blind chair. One thing that I get frustrated with is the height of chairs. Are these chairs adjustable? Please give me some of your opinions on this chair. Thanks in advance for your help!
Man it has been a devastating two years. I hate seeing bucks like this and bigger go down to this disease. It is so disappointing when you are trying to pass deer with hopes of improving the age structure of the herd. Sorry for you and everyone else who has to pay from the results.
I don't know if I have a learning lesson but I know I need to stick with my plan and not let the heat of the moment change my decision making and process that I take when determining to shoot or not. The story is, I called in the shooter buck I wanted and got a 30 yard quartering away shot at...
Does this have anything to do with an interview that some of us may have watched on a web based hunting show? This is my only guess on "one of our own" who "sold us out"…….

Just to clarify, you want to eliminate GOV tags and keep the NR tag allocation the same? I'm trying to figure out your opinion on this entire thing and why? I have read your posts and know that you also have a large amount of land you are trying to sell right now. I do not mean to be...
Who is funding the Clean Water act (or whatever the name is)? It seems to me that the push to encourage buffers near waterways to improve the water quality in Iowa is an attempt to improve pheasant habitat as well. This would be a great thing if it would help bring the pheasant numbers up to...

I planted the fridged forage plot screen this year and my seeding rate was way too high. Can you post some pics of egyptian wheat planted at the proper seeding rate so I can see what that plot screen would look like right now. I think the plot screen mix I put in would be great but it...
Congrats on the committment to the hawkeyes!
I'm glad that Coach Heller got the job and hope that he can keep the instate talent home and turn the program around. Best of luck pursuing your baseball dreams. I look forward to following your career.

I have about five acres of switch in its third year. I notice more non switch areas than switch still. I have been mowing down to 12 inches every year and then in the spring I mow everything down to about 4-6 inches before the switch begins to grow in hopes of a better stand. What do...
I saw in Des Moines last weekend a Muddy Outfitter Lite stand for $90. Then go to Menards or Theissen's and get two or three sets of sticks ($35-40 ea) and you have to sets as long as you are good at getting stand up and down efficiently. I would also suggest getting the quick attach system...
Here is a video I got off of a trail cam on my dad's farm. I'm not sure who would have shot this deer but they definitely need to spend a little time at the range.
As you watch the video I want you to look and see if you think this is a new wound or an old one. It almost looks old to me...
I heard it twice this year. The first time I couldn't tell what was going on but I saw a big buck through the brush on a rye field chasing does. The second was last Sunday morning. A mature buck pushed a doe through a pasture and roared at her as she squatted to pee. He was nearly 300 yards...
If you have the time to do it, I would get an any sex landowner shotgun tag and hunt that as well. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you can use your landowner tag for both shotgun seasons. You may be single come January but that's the way I would go.
I was planning on planting the rye mix this weekend but may wait as there is no rain forecasted. Would turkeys come through and eat the rye if I were to plant it and not get rain for say another couple weeks? Just wondering if you ever dealt with them with the cereal grain mix. Thanks
I have quite a few less options this season showing up on trail camera. I'm hoping that there is a big shake up when the bucks re-locate for sure!
This is the only no brainer I have gotten on camera. Short tines but I couldn't pass the mass...
