    Chinese Balloon in US airspace?

It was this strange explosion today near Billings that caused people to think we shot it down. However, I think the Montanna balloon is now over Missouri. https://www.ktvq.com/news/-viral-video-captures-possible-explosion-in-air-near-billings

    Disheartening

My favorite enclosed blind has a big sliding window, a very comfy chair, 65"inch television, 250 mps fiber optic internet service, 80,000 BTU furnace, and even has running water. I've seen thousands of deer I could have shot. However, I have never and will never shoot a deer from inside my...

    Bowmars

I agree with you, but on the flip side I now recognize these dirt bags whereas I didn't before this thread. Updated and informed I will never accidentally buy a product of there's and fund their crimes.

    Shot placement study

Here's my takeaway.... 1) Yes, shoulder is off limits with an arrow. 2) All the pins shown are deer that needed help finding. Notice where there are only 2 pins. Kill zone is right where it always was. Slip an arrow in where it belongs and you won't need any help finding it.

Let’s Eat! (The Ishi legacy thread)

OK, that looks ridiculous!! I would like to see more pics next time you do that, How you actually cut them, how much trimming and I want to see the inside of that meat! You got any more pics?

    COVID messed up everything!

Since the start of COVID, I have seen 2 Novembers with little rut activity. I've seen sparring and hard chasing on January 9th. I have seen a 6" tree shredded in Early September. I've seen bucks sporting full antlers on April 28. Tonight, my son thought he filled an antlerless tag on a big...

Let’s Eat! (The Ishi legacy thread)

Great question. Not a crock pot. It was just one of those cheap ($17 at Walmart) roaster pans. Conventional oven at 200 for 9 1/2 hrs. It was also a shoulder from a 2 year old doe. I don't shoot those freakishly large deer like you do so I also don't need a Ramsey kitchen to cook them...

Let’s Eat! (The Ishi legacy thread)

Oh my!! This is unbelievable! Reminiscent of grandmas pot roast. Steve Rinella said deer front shoulder is probably the most abused piece of meat on the planet (grinder). I was a skeptic but not anymore. Check this out.

Let’s Eat! (The Ishi legacy thread)

Trying something new today. Whole front shoulder, spice rub overnight, seared this morning in flour and butter, laid on a bed of bacon, with a loose bacon blanket. Added sauted mushrooms, onion and garlic cloves, and topped with potatoes, carrots and broccoli and cover roast 3/4 with beef...

    Starting to think cell cams….

Ok, this pic may have just changed my mind. I also have a dog problem.

Free, 3/4" solid oak floor boards.

All yours buddy. I don't have the old floor removed yet. We did early family Thanksgiving last weekend so we could pound out the floor Thurs, Fri, Sat....when I should be in a tree. Sneaking out of work early today, maybe I can score this evening. I'll get with you on PM and we'll figure...

Free, 3/4" solid oak floor boards.

SOLD! ....to the swamp rat for $0.00. :). Seriously, hope you can find a good use for it. Hey, I should have mentioned, there will also be tongue and groove staples to grind off. They were never glued though. I probably should have when I installed it. Still want them?

Free, 3/4" solid oak floor boards.

After 15 years the kitchen floor is going out the door. This was pre finished flooring (bad idea) and there are a lot of water spots, especially by the sink and entry ways. Most of it is in pretty good shape. The worst of it is the close up pic below. If a guy wanted to plane them down an...

    Starting to think cell cams….

I just feel like a cell cam pic arriving on a phone in real time is far more advantageous than a phone call from a buddy saying, Yo, I see a big buck. One is legal and the other is not. I don't get it. Pretty soon there will be an app that estimates gross score, foot speed, and coordinates...

    Starting to think cell cams….

Then a question for you.... Would it be illegal for me to call or text someone who is hunting to let them know I saw a giant and it is headed right for their current stand location? I was always under the impression that this is not legal. Am I mistaken here?

    Starting to think cell cams….

No sir. I have seen deer killed with a well thrown spear, but it was probably unfair because he was hunting from an elevated platform. Look, we all have to decide where our own line is, and where the crossover from hunting becomes just shooting deer. I had a guy in my area tell me that if I...

    Starting to think cell cams….

In my most extremely humble opinion, cell cams are clearly illegal already. From the IDNR... You may not use dogs, domestic animals, bait, radios, handguns, rifles and crossbows (except as described on p. 38), automobiles, aircraft, drones, electronic calls or any mechanical conveyance or...
