    Iowa Cell Camera rules

I will add some of my experience this past fall. Im sure you all have noticed the same thing. I had a cell cam within 20 yards of a stand, you can see the stand in the background of the photos. I was amazed how many deer i would see from the stand while hunting and even within range that never...

    Iowa Cell Camera rules

Hmm. I'm not to thrilled about it. I love my few cell cams for the fact I dont have to make a long drive to check cards. The two privates I hunt are each about an hour drive one way. I dont have enough cams to really say having them is an advantage to make me quick go hunt anyway. Im not able to...

    Raccon bounty

ditto, i want to try this. And for those that are not close to their property to check traps daily this might be a better option than trapping? Like can someone set up and call and expect to call in several over a couple of hours?

    4th Season Gobbler

I took it down to the wire this year. I was fortunate enough to fill my tag this past Saturday 5/11, second to last day of the season. I usually get an archery tag and then a 4 season tag every year so I can hunt every weekend of the seasons. I didnt end up going the weekend of 3rd season though...

    Bird population in your area

I have a couple spots with huntable populations that i bounce between. Usually end up filling one tag each spring. They are not great populations. If there were much fewer birds I probably wouldnt bother. Ive stopped going to one place I can turkey hunt, just to poor of #'s there anymore.

    Honeysuckle??

Looks like coralberry/buck brush to me. My property has a lot of it. Forester said it is a good native to have. Produces little red berries. Good cover. https://buroaklandtrust.org/buckbrush-and-deer-in-winter/

    All things scrapes

I've not used any hemp ropes. This past fall I had 3 vine scrapes and put a cam on each and all had good action. No scents used. Just cut a 5-6 feet piece of vine and tied it up with the bottom of the vine at about waist height and then scrape out the ground under it. Two still have a cam on...
