Looking for a trail cam that has a flash that people can not see. Had someone take one of my cams. Going to hide one really well but don’t want to donate a new one to the same A-hole. Is black flash invisible? I have IR cams now but they glow red. Easy to see in the dark.
I have been watching these recently (around 8-9 video series). Looks like his 2 year program is thinning them down some and helping. Always a vacuum when dealing with predators, as they will roam and keep filling back in to an extent. But, it appears to really knock them back enough to give...
Sounds nuts, but if your watering hole is large enough to hold water without drying up, might try minnows or some cheap goldfish. They will eat the larvae and won't hurt the deer drinking from it.
Thanks to all who replied. I called Jacobson’s in Adair (closer to me) and they have 50lb bags. Never thought to check at well drilling or plumbing type places.
Very appreciated!
I'm looking to find bags of bentonite for my pond. May have a leak and wanted to try this before bringing in equipment. Anyone know of or have experience with buying in Iowa? Shipping is pricey, so was hoping to find some half way local I could pick up. Only need about 200-300lbs.
Thanks!
Completely agree Daver. Not a single cause. My area has quite a few coons and bobcats. I have not found an adult dead turkey, but my place hasn't had many over the 5 years I have owned it. I'm hoping to start on the coons and create more and more cover that will benefit them (and deer). I...
DNR told me no on a permit and that distemper will eventually handle the coons. I'm hoping that the all year round law gets approved so landowners can take care of business. I used to trap, so I still have my equipment from years ago. Don't think I would have time to kill hundreds, but I can...
I am seeing the same lack of birds. Hardly see them driving from the DSM area to Ringgold almost every week. I do rarely get trail cam pics of them, but not many at all and I'm part of a huge block of timber that should be holding tons of them.
I will say I get coon, bobcat and yote pics more...
Used to use the Hornady SST. No expansion and barely any blood. Switched a couple years ago to the Barnes Expanders. Huge hollow point that knocks deer flat. Haven’t had to trail one but much better performance from a damage or blood standpoint.
You nailed what has been bugging me the most. This onslaught of non-stop garbage is fueled by $. It is politicians that want to strip mine the state for every penny. All to get votes. The couldn't care less about the natural resource. The real frustration is that the DNR has to abide by...
I'm planning on burning down my clover this year and planting brassicas (been 3 years of clover now). When doing this, I saw skip's vid showing you used 24D and Gly. What ratiio? Also, looks like a lot of people do brassica in mid summer. I want to do brassica and some plot screen on the...
I have bees. Been doing it for 6 years now. Had as many as 10 hives. Down to 3 now, but that is due to selling off some. 3 is about right for me with the amount of work and rewards. I planted apple and cherry trees about 4 years ago, so this year I should see some really good pollenation...
I shot a Ruger bolt action over the weekend. Really enjoyed shooting it, but there were constant cycling issues with ammo. Rounds seem to hang up short or try to load into the barrel at a sharp upward angle. Got the shooting done that I wanted, but is this just the "norm"? Was considering...
