Believe me, I don't want to see anything bad happen to Iowa and the hunting. I would rather wait my turn and go video others each year and wait my turn, than hunt every year and slowly have the hunting dwindle down. Would I like to hunt it every year......dah!!!! but not if allowing me to do...
Cedar Creek.......I retract my last statement. I didn't mean it like that....but you are 100% correct in that the deer need areas to go with little to no hunting pressure, and second, they don't need the plots etc to live.
I guess what I mean is that it would be easier to find time to better...
I second that ^^^. I also have to bring up something else.....
Not being able to get NRLO a tag every year hurts the local land around their farms. If I knew I could hunt every year, I would be able to manage the land better ie. food plots, tree planting, etc. This is all fine and good, but...
I meant 1 per 100 but that would work too. The state would get 3-4 nr fee for a 240 acre parcel every year instead of those hunters being able to hunt once every 2-3 years depending on the weapon. If you look at that.....the state would gain more funds for just my 240. $550 per hunter * 4=...
What about for every 100 acres you have to have 2 nr hunters hunting? This may help with people buying up land if they don't want others hunting it. They also would have to pay the NR fee. This would give the state more funds and the nr would be on ground already purchased and not flooding on...
This in a whole is a very sticky situation I see. I am on the fence because I own land in ia, but I don't want my investment etc to be compermised because of the after math. You all have great points!!
Yes, money talks, especially when what most farmers consider "worthless" untillable property is going in the 3-4 G/ acre thing, most would be stupid not to sell.... an increase in NR tags would prove my point.....
This is why I posted my question. I have land in Taylor county. I don't know the amount of hunting land available to people. I know now the situation alot of people have to find hunting areas. Are more and more farmers not allowing residents to hunt their land???? I see the farmers in my area...
So what is the TRUE BEEF with the NRLO tags? I read alot of people on hear not wanting them..which I can easily see why, but what are the really big problems you guys feel will happen?
1) The land prices can go up with out of staters buying some hunting ground?
2) More deer "could" be shot...
Bass historically are not "biters" in winter. They dont move much and dont have to eat much. now, I know someone will say they catch them all the time, but I am talking based on my aquatic biology degree that bass are not easy to catch during the winter. Fish small and very slowly. good luck
