    Rec. Property tax implications

You will pay income on the property when you sell, most likely in capital gains. You can write off expenses to maintain and take care of it until then. Your income when you sell will most likely exceed the lifetime of expenses.

    Crossbows, what's the big deal?

The number one thing that brings new hunters to the sport, is a mentor that is already doing it, usually a family member, or a friend. Sure, some join because of their own interest in the sport, but recruiting new hunters is more about keeping the existing hunter interested, and engaged. To...

    HF716/necked cartridge update

I sure hope our state never manages our deer herd for trophy management. To each our own, when it comes to defining what a trophy is. Herd health and population management, not trophy. And, yes, I define myself as a trophy hunter. I am really good at eating tag soup because of that.

    Crossbows, what's the big deal?

Darn things are heavy, loud, and clunky. No desire to ever use one, but I would if my abilities forced me to use one because I could not use my bow. 400 fps over 340 fps bows is both significant, and insignificant. 100 yard capability, sure, just like my ML is capable of 500+ yards, and my bow...

    License fees

I laugh when we think Jr. needs a lower price. Let's face it, Jr's tag is getting bought by Mom, Dad, or Grandpa, regardless of the price. A few dollars more does not stop me from buying my grandson's tag for him. He already gets a price break since he doesn't have to buy a hunting license, nor...

Pistol regualtions for deer hunting HF179

I see that now. My bad. The changes are horrible and affect more than just pistols and revolvers. My interpretation. I don't like it one bit.

I'm not sure about the rest of your suspicions, but muzzleloaders do not shoot cartridges.

Making deer tags good for any season, or how to get more than one buck tag HF218

I am curious why we are debating party hunting here. It has pretty much nothing to do with this bill.

    Land owner tags

This part is not how it works. As said already, if you qualify as a landowner or tenant, you can hunt all properties that you "qualify" for. It can be many, it does not need to be contiguous, and it can be in different counties. You register a property, one property, the first time you get a...

    Land owner tags

This is not correct (JMHO). A landowner can get a landowner tag, and so can the tenant. If the tenant happens to be the kiddo, said kiddo can get a landowner tag too (as the tenant). Same as the husband wife combos that have been mentioned.

    Land owner tags

You get one LOT. It is good on farms you own, or are a tenant. You cannot be a tenant of a farm that you own (how would that be possible?). You can be one for a family member (your spouse).

    Land owner tags

You can own/rent multiple farms, multiple counties. You only register one of them for LOTs, but you can use your LOT not just the registered farm, you can use it on all of your farms.

    Meow !

If I could ID that song dog responding to my my calls, he could get a free pass! Good thing though, he looks just like the rest of them. Glad he did a tiny bit of justifying his existence.
