Not really for deer, but if I can find this and get it done right I can hunt more. Looking for a 3 pt or pull behind lawn aerator and grass seeder, slit or drill type to rent in eastern iowa to overseed/reseed my lawn. About 1 acre so 4 foot or better. Anyone have any ideas on where/if I can...
20 dead bucks so far and easily that many does. All bucks 21/2 or older and most were older than that. None of our cull bucks died, all were good deer.
and yes I saw benefit of having the coyotes killed and some goodwill with the locals. Having the dogs run through was ok, but then being told I made enemies, light shot out, deer dumped and shot in the past to let lay, to heck with them.
Do you really think they would leave tags on the animals and dump them!!! Think a CO is gonna wait there to catch them dumping, gimme a break. I have had them tell me they do this. Thats why I don't want them near my place. The CO says there is nothing he can do about it as you know. These guys...
Got a call from neighbor of our farm in SE iowa, wanting to let the groups hounds run our properties for the coyote tournament. In years past he has known my opposition. I called him, and left message hounds could run through but no one in there with guns. I get a call from the neighbor/"friend"...
I have a couple ponds that have silted in over the years one still holds fish. Didn't want to drain them and last year saw an ad for a guy or company in I believe south iowa with a wide track type long arm type excavator that could go right into a pond or marsh. Anyone know who i am thinking...
I have now sprayed clover with 1/2 to 1 qt 41% round up per acre. It has dinged the clover but not killed it. clover was 1 full year old. probably wouldn't do it when the clover is stressed or less than 1 season old. I get pretty poor results with clethodim and pursuit(essentially generic slay...
from what i've found out 1/2 pint /acre of round up(41%). I haven't used it yet will wait til late summer before some rains as i over seeded my plots this spring due the dryness last year and deer damage last winter and the young clover may not handle it.
I am spraying clover with select for grass 8oz/ac and pursuit for broadleaf4oz/ac. with crop oil 1qt/ac. i was told by chemical company they could be tank mixed thus get the job done with one spraying. they are the same chemicals as imperial whitetails arrest and slay and they say to not tank...
Voss signs(look on the internet) good selection and if you desire they can custom make or you can add a custom line"camera surveillance, ect..." if you desire. metal is worth the extra$. yellow with black letters seems to show the best under most situations and color seems long lasting. so far...
as a landowner i feel tracking dogs should be leashed and permission obtained before trailing. there are already too many grey reasons people can enter land without permission(trailing and looking for deer without a blood trail, coyote hunters looking for"lost dogs", ect). as far as Disabled...
There are people that need it agreed. but probably more abuse than people that actually have legit need for it. I do feel kids don't need it and it should be in a gun season. Maybe with early or late muzzle.
Gimme a break. A crossbow requires no physical effort to shoot other than to draw it for which there are cranks and aids. you shoulder it like a gun, pull a trigger like a gun,it requires very little effort to master like a gun.
Other than a different projectile it sounds more like a gun to me...
Cooter, my oversight. I interpreted as being used during youth season. Still don't see a reason for ANYONE to use a crossbow during bowseason period. Handicap or elderly. Hell I've seen a guy shoot a bow from his wheelchair with his teeth as he was missing an arm . He was a darn good shot. I...
Why the heck does a kid need to kill a deer with a crossbow!!! If the purpose of youth season is to expose and educate youths to hunting safely in an unpressured season, than let them LEARN with the easiest most efficient weapon availiable that is legal (shotgun). As far as i am concerned it...
