Well, Sam and I had a great morning. My neighbor was nice enough to let Sam and I hunt his ground this morning. He has a bunch of milo plots for upland birds but according to him the deer were all over it too.
We set up over looking the milo plot to our north. Sam couldn't sit down very well...
This weekend I am happily and sadly taking a 15 yr old terminally ill kid hunting. He has a brain tumor and unfortunately has not been givin long to live. He is my cousins nephew and when I heard he loved hunting i volunteered to take him hunting on my side of the state.
I truly would like to...

How come you put it to the side Limb?
I would think it would be a little looser.
I do it like the video and it's...
Jeez! That is a P.I.G.
My advice is go in fearless, but respect him. Pretty general I know.
Years ago I had a 190" typ. that was hiding out in a small draw in the middle of nowhere. He was about 150 yds from my stand. I knew the tree i was in was one of the few to get a stand in. I was...
When I leave my set and sticks in (lone wolf) I just take the bottom 2 off and bring them in w/ me as I hunt it.
I only leave those sets in those nasty thick spots that very few will find too.

I built a template for the fresnel lens. I drilled the exact same holes as the board in a hard piece of plastic. I then attached the template to the board w/ the screws and small spacers to keep it from moving. I...

If you do build an IR camera just remember to set them up so they are facing towards some trees or tall bush's. The reason is w/ the IR flash the light needs something to bounce off of to make the pic better. At least that's what I noticed when I get good pics.

I am currently running 3 of them right now.
They seem to take good pics when the deer are close. If the deer are a little further out you can photoshop them up and lighten them then they end up pretty good.
They are not that hard to build. You just have to take apart a few more ribbons and...
I guess I have missed or haven't found 2.
When I was 12 yrs old my dad was doing a small drive to me during 1st shotgun season. "He told me now these deer will probably be running so make sure you lead them". Sure enough 10 deer came running by w/ the one in back a 170" 10 pt typ. frame...
I'm pretty sure I have other pics of her after this w/ her ears up.
This was the first pic of her in that session that had here coming into the corn w/ her ears down.
When bowhunting the rut hunt the does...and I mean right on top of that spot.
Not 20yds,50yds off,I mean right on the downwind side of that bedding area and the big boy will soon be there.
Once I started doing this my kills and encounters went way up.
I would say pass him.
The guys I know that say "if I didn't shoot him somebody else would" never shoot big deer and it's because of this theory.
You may be one person and he may get shot by someone else but at least you gave him a chance to be a stud.
I feel pretty good about a shot out to low 40's. But like was said conditions have to be right. W/ no obstruction or really high wind. I have shot further at a buck though but i was younger and would probably be more patient now.
