    Round up rate on Asgrowbeans

Use a full rate of RUP we use 64oz if its 41% or 48 oz of the 53%. I would let the oats get as tall as you think you need to protect the beans but the oats are basically a weed and competition to the yeild of your beans

    Thoughts on this Drill

A friend is looking at this drill. He has 2 farms not to close together so needs to trailer between farms. Would only plant 10-15 acres max a year.

    Future of CRP

This would depend on the type of contract. I have seen as little as them requiring the plot destroyed and reseeded. To all FSA payments being with held thru the process of being decided by the County Committee. The right solution for a CRP contract without food plots is to buy out the acres...

    Spraying clover and alfalfa?

The safest way is to spray both seperate. Spray the 2-4 DB first the Clethodim/crop oil second. Alot depends on the quality of the spray system you have.If you can up the gallons per acre to 20 and the psi To 50+ both tank mixed will work fine.

    Future of CRP

Some Continuous practices allow food plots for sure but most do not. HELI and Wetland “CP 23 and CP23A”and most Pollinator CP 42 and rare/declining CP25 do not allow food plots. SAFE is one practice thats continuous that allows food plots for sure but may be only open in certain areas.

    Future of CRP

I wish this was made clear at the time the sign up. My local office said the rates should be in the range of 185-240. I made a 6 applications in 3 countys most did not even make 185. After getting the rates back from FSA i withdrew all but one of the applications. The local fsa staff does a...

    Future of CRP

This would have been done quietly by Brook Rollins office . Pretty smart if the Trump plan was to reduce spending but the 2018 farm bill required a signup. Have a signup but make the rates low.

    Future of CRP

The county cash rental rates did not drop. The rental rates had a built in incentive for various things. These incentives have been removed causing the CRP rates drop. Took me a few trips to different FSA offices to get that information. On average rates are down 15-20%

    Duracore rates

Looked at it again today, can’t exactly row it but a lot of small 2-4 leaf grass coming up not sure it’s switch but should be. Another thing I thought of is I may have had quinclorac in the sprayer also as I was spraying other switch grass and Miscanthus.

    Duracore rates

Definetly wasnt to deep put cylinder stops on each wheel lift to allow the coulters to just scrape the ground made it slightly deeper on the clover fire breaks and that is up great . Will watch it thru the next warm spell and decide if i need to replant

    Duracore rates

Drilled some RC Big Rock in a new crp planting late march. The ground was beans last year which was fall sprayed after harvest. Sprayed 48oz of Atrazaine early may which has kept it pretty clean until now. A few broadleaf weeds starting now. I see the rates are 12-20 oz wondering what the go to...

    Custom farming

The success or failure will hinge on the operator that you choose. Very hard to get yours done in good time when they have there own to do. The other thing to consider is crop insurance if you are new to having crop in your name you may only insure to county average rates and also wont have much...

    Future of CRP

I did get 3 of the applications back with the rental rates. Much lower than we were told the range was at application. Lucas Co general sign up top rate is 135. Had 2 that are bottomland high CSR these were sub 200 an acre 3 years ago we turned down 258.00. Will be interesting to see how many...

    Future of CRP

I made 3 applications today 2 for Appanoose and one for Monroe. The are taking applications for both general and continuous CRP the range of rates are from 184 to 240. They said 240 is the statewide cap without going into a 30 year contract “ Clear 30”. The FSA staff is pretty short handed here...

    Current Walnut Pricing

Lots of things working against the walnut market right now. Very bad time of year to cut high dollar logs. Tariffs are also really impacting who is buying and what they are paying. Really shocking to me how much of the Walnut is exported. I would not do a Walnut sale unless its an areas being...

    First time planting soybeans

i would not spray Simizine not even sure that is on label for beans i dont think it is. If it was me i would use 16-18 oz of Metochlor which is Dual. Lots of other pre that can be used many will have a long setback to plant the next crop .

    Spraying vs burning crp?

One thing in favor of chemical over fire is burning up all the nests and nesting cover. I burn a 1000+ acres a year and normally am done by now but still have some to go it sucks how many turkey and pheasant nests we have found recently.

    TSI chainsaw????

One thing to remember about the electric saws is conventional Kevlar chaps don’t provide the same level of safety as they would on a gas powered saw. It has to do with the way the sprocket will become clogged with Kevlar on a gas saw, the electric saw is more a direct drive. Not sure what is...
