As a no-till farmer, all the stalks from last years' crops are still on the ground when I plant. I have been seeing more and more fawns "hidden in plain sight" out in the middle of crop fields. They are impossible to see until they run. They'll run 50 yards and just drop back to the ground to...
Thanks to last year's late wet spring I am now on Paul's rotation and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Deer were on the rye this spring every hour of the day as it was the only fresh food in the area. I planted the oat-clover mix April 15 and as the rye got tall, the deer switched to...
If they were year old Seed-Coated beans, the germination may have been that low. Beans lose germination much faster than corn, and treated beans much faster yet. Were they pink or blue and last years' seed?
Please get one for Bonker so I don't have to carry his blind up the hill anymore. You may have lost your "man card", but you will soon be issued your "genius card"!!!!
Congrats Trav. But that means I have to shoot an absolute pig this week to win the beer. I might as well start shopping for your next taste experience. Didn't you say the other night that you just love a real strong IPA?
Lake Superior still 33% covered in ice. Lakes in Ontario will not be open by season start, unless a miracle change in temps happens. Records are made to be broken I guess.
Heard you got a slob in Minnesota dg. I'm going to have to improve on one 4th season a little as spur length on my first was a little shy. I can almost taste some cheap, rotgut brew already!! Oh wait, you can just give me some of what you already drink if you want to do that.
I can't be a party to this fraud anymore. Here is the actual pic of Bonker's bird before he photoshopped it to make it appear legit. If you don't believe in evolution, here is proof of what one record cold winter can do to a population.
Cut in strips thin enough that when u grill them, they are cooked thru quickly before the outside can get too dry. Marinate overnight in your fav flavor. I like terryaki. Just like venison, they get too dry in an instant cause they're so lean.
Just got home from the first CWD meeting put on by the DNR up here in Monona. Dale Garner did a good job as usual outlining the history and spread of CWD. What everyone was wondering is the course of action. Nothing earth-shattering is going to happen. DNR just wants increased sampling in the...
is in the books. Being so old that it takes me just as long to trim my nose, ear hair and eyebrows as it does to shave, causes me to reflect a bit. As I cleaned the ashes out of the woodstove, swept the floor and carried out the trash; I realized the things I'll remember most of the last three...
