Same Story here. Fortunatly for me one of the does got a little too close!!
Hey Paul, was that last doe quartering away? I hit one last night a little further back and she was broadside. She went about 30 yds and tipped over. I think I must have hit a main artery.
I shot a doe last night at 20yds. I had to thread the needle to make the shot but felt comfortable with it. Anyways after the shot I saw the arrow hit further back and a little higher than I wanted. She took off and ran 30yds into the cornfield and did that drunken deer walk and fell over dead...
If I read your post right that buck had an identifying scar. You should definately report it. You would be able to testify on that. Every poached deer is part of a bigger puzzle.
