I wondered about this. My fear would be the parasites developing resistance since you can’t ensure each animal would get a complete dose. Over time I could see survivors of microdoses developing some resistance.

I know he made it through until he shed, but he had lost an eye and it was pretty infected. He fell off the radar shortly thereafter… I was guessing him at 6 last year.
