Thanks guys. I've got video of the first buck from last year. He might be smaller this year. He was a ten last year with just a bit shorter brow tines. This year everything is a little taller but I don't think it's enough to make up for the loss of those g4s.
My two top bucks for 2015 so far are big 8 Points but I'm sure there will be more showing up over the next month.
Here's my number 1 buck, who just shed his velvet last week.
Here's my number 2 which is at a different farm. My camera had some sort of malfunction where it...
Not quite sure on this but I have a match set to an 8 point that had 9 inch brows last year and a 9 point that had about 8 and 11 inch brows that I videoed during November. I have a feeling he's one of those 2 deer.
I checked a camera today that I had put out a week ago along the edge of my food plot at a mineral site. There's three bucks I'm questioning the age on, I wouldn't shoot them but I'd like to know incase there mature and I want a buddy to shoot them.

In brookings there's some nice storage units. Get a couple buddies and rent one out. We have four guys and it only costs $12 each every month and we keep a 14' enclosed trailer in ours, where we keep all our hunting stuff. We got two clam locks on the unit and also on the trailer. The place is...
If you're ever looking for a place to hunt by brookings let me know. I know a few public places that get overlooked and I've got some private land I could possibly hook you up with.
I turkey hunt both Iowa and Northeast Missouri. About 5 years ago here at home we had a 2 year decline making three years ago horrible. On that third year though we had a really good turkey hatch producing alot of jakes two years ago but still not many toms. That year we also had a really good...
After a rain they will normally go on doing what they'd do on a regular day. But during a rain, as long as it's not a heavy rain or storm, they like to go to open fields. They can't hear as well so they like to be able to see if there's any danger coming their way.
I shot this gobbler yesterday morning. My morning set wasn't successful so I went to another farm and from the entrance I could see 10 gobblers and close to 20 jakes. There was a group of 6 toms along a creek so I used that to get about 70 yards from them. I started calling softly and got louder...
I'd focus on a nice strutting or jake decoy and a decent hen decoy. The first couple weeks all I use is a strutter and after that only use a hen. But the best is a strutter IMO and mines not even that expensive but I put a real fan on there and I've had great success with it.
I just got done with 60 deer and was off an average of 7.556. I feel like they must score deer differently in Texas than any other state because those are the deer I was most wrong about. There was a 10 point that's tallest tines were maybe 8" but supposedly scored 168, needless to say I was off...
I agree with you on expanding the coon season. They cause just the same amount of crop damage if not more than deer, it's just deer get blamed. Although I'm not sure if making the season year round is going to accomplish a lot. Trappers and coon hunters aren't gonna wanna kill coons if they're...
I've read through every single post while sitting here, yes it took awhile. But I've noticed some things I'd like to get out there. This is going to be a very long post and I'm warning you of that now. I'll start off telling about myself so that's out of the way.
I'm 19 years old (I know...
I'm not worried about people using crossbows as if it takes away from the sport of archery. What I'm worried about is the younger kids that will be using them, which there will be plenty using them. You've got to be really carefully shooting to your right or left when in a treestand that you...
This setup was all mouth calls. I only really use my electronic call for howling because I don't like the sounds of the distress calls on it. I also use a .243, dropped him at 250 yards.
