    Gustav = Rain!

Re: Now it's Ike! We've had about 3" since last night, and it's still coming down at a steady rate. I'm hoping it'll let up a little, real soon.

    Wireless Microphone set?

Sennheiser is known for making good audio equipment. I bought a pair of wireless mics used off ebay for under $300, and they've worked flawlessly now for 2 years. New they're in the $500 range. But there's also (less expensive) options out there that I've heard of. But I don't have 1st hand...

3 years of the same buck

My target buck for this year. I have pictures of higher scoring bucks, but this guy I have history with, which means more to me. Back in 2006, I got several game camera pictures of him, and even had the opportunity to arrow him, but passed. He has unique main beams that wrap around & almost...

    TREE PLANTING- Varieties, methods, etc?

With the latest heatwaves that went through KS, I lost about 80% of my Norway Spruce tree's. We've been lucky enough to get rain about every week, but the multiple 100-110 degree days fried most of them. Most of the dedicous trees have been fine though. Next year, I'm going with some tougher...

    Tree Planting

Re: Tree Planting - Herbicides Good info. Here are some of my results. All of my tree's are virtually on the same type of soil, which is a lowland area that used to be pasture many years ago. Like you, I planted 5 dogwoods, and made sure they were watered once or twice a week, but none of...

    Tree Planting

Re: Tree Planting - Herbicides I went into town over the weekend, and even though there wasn't much of a selection, I was able to find an insecticide that was for trees & gardens. It had the active ingredient of pemethrin in it, which is the same stuff I've always used on my hunting clothes...

    Tree Planting

Re: Tree Planting - Herbicides I received the package of trees yesterday. It's amazing, the amount of tree's that can be crammed into one box. Everything was packaged real well, and still very moist. The trees looked great, with full & long roots. Most of the 4-8" Spruce tree's I ordered where...

    Outdoor Wood Burner

Thanks guys. About the only concern I had with the Woodmaster is the clean-out of the ashes. They make a $400 auger attachment which i've read lots of poor feedback about. A lot of the other Outdoor Wood Stoves have some type of a grate and ash tray for easier clean-out. I figured I could...

    Dermestid Beetles

I had the beetles for a couple years and they did a fantastic job. But I got tired of the upkeep. They need to stay in a place where the temperature is control... and the only place for me is in the house. They stink at times, and it seemed that a few always managed to escape, regardless of...

    Outdoor Wood Burner

I thought I'd bump this up. I've been doing a lot more research lately, and am leaning toward the Woodmaster 4400 for a house/garage combo. baggin_bucks or 8point... if you've received them, what's your feedback on the stoves?

Hey Kansas Fellas- got a ??

It's a fun time...crazy with a lot of people. I really like the lineup this year as well. I don't live too far from there, so i've always just went for the day. Hopefully the weather will hold out. There has been times when it's rained a fair amount, and everything turns to sloppy mud.

    Gas & oil prices

I started driving the old crappy 85 Buick to work. Looks a whole lot uglier than my truck, but gets almost twice the gas mileage. Besides that, I don't really think much about it. Even if it were $8/ gallon, I would still be driving to work like I do now. It's a 90 mile roundtrip to work...

    Vehicle GPS

It's hard to go wrong with the Garmin Nuvi models, for a road use GPS. Most units nowadays have the same nessessary features. It just depends on what types of extra's you need or want in a GPS. The Nuvi 350 is a great unit to look at, to start.
