    Muskie Questions...Need advice (THA4, T-250)

I'd second the motion on Mille Lacs (MN). Some very good fishing there. In southern WI, Madison has three lakes in town (Mendota, Monona and Wingra) and a buddy has fished Wingra with very good success. It's the smallest of the three and easier to break down. All this info is second-hand (I...

Thoughts on QDM (Quality Deer Management) in Iowa?????????????

Also, forgot to mention that QDMA will soon be starting a website just for Midwestern branches. This is one of the fastest-growing areas for QDMA in the nation. I'll post the link and any other info as soon as the site is up and running and/or I know more. Anyone who wants more info on the...

Thoughts on QDM (Quality Deer Management) in Iowa?????????????

We have started a QDMA branch in southeastern MN and I think it would be a great thing to share ideas/events/promotional advice with other branches. Perhaps until there's a branch in NE Iowa, hunters from there could participate in our group? Just a thought; I'm wide open to suggestions! I know...

    Ever wonder why?

I found the article interesting, too. One of our state newspapers ran a story about the current popularity among Europeans who come to America, rent a car (often the best they can afford) and cruise to popular American tourist sites. They quoted some German guy, who said gas was $8/gallon (or...

    wind pattern info needed

There used to be a product called "wind floaters" (or something like that) that a buddy who's an elk guide told me about. They're really light fibers that you pull out of a little pack and let go. They ride the wind current and you can see them for a long distance. Marabou feathers (used in...

I don't think I could take this walk.

Ummm...What's the reward at the end? 200" buck? 65" moose? Uma Thurman? Otherwise, not this cowboy!

    Best Jobs

No easy answers here, in my book. Read the old thread and one guy summed it up best (I think)when he said you better choose a job you love, no matter what. I agree. Life is too short to spend all those hours toiling at something you hate, just so you can get some extra stand time...

    fly-fishers?

I live less than an hour from Decorah (in MN)and the streams here are looking very good. A little off-color, but levels/flows are nice. I don't mind a little stain to the water, especially as summer progresses. Hope you catch some if you go!

    Color pattern

I'd agree with piebald. Unless you're lining that mineral lick with chalk... Seriously, I hunt where there's a fair population of albino's and piebalds, and this one looks like the latter. Awesome deer!
