Reliance, starfire, or redhaven. All have cold tolerance required for here in Iowa. We ain't in Georgia here! ;)
Pricing really depends on quantities. They do cost more than apples and pears.
I've sold and planted quite a few peach trees here in Iowa. They grow crazy fast. Faster than any tree I've seen.
Forget the fruit.... I'm wondering about planting a thicket of them for cover. You could have legit bedding thicket in 3 years.
That one pictured is a 1,200 lb trophy feeder https://www.trophyfeeders.com/
No complaints. There are several other similar options. You can also look at spin feeders on timers if you prefer to meter the feed.
We run Big Tine Feed BT40. If you are feeding tons (literally), you can have stuff...
Going to be great. I did somthing that looked very similar a few years back. It was huge cottonwoods. 2 years later it was a jungle.
When they are done logging I would go back in with a chainsaw and cut down any damaged or inferior trees. Clear cut if needed.
Also I'd seed down or plant trees in SW corner. I don't want deer eating in that far corner either. I'll to remember to make a map. Few other things come to mind.
I would consider dozing out the pennisula of timber on the south. Based on your topo it lays nice. Based on your setup, I dont want deer bedding there. Based on your aerial, those trees are sucking up ALOT of moisture.
Litterally no one has said that anywhere. If they did, post a screenshot and I'll buy you a beer or a soda.
And there is zero correlation to buying or selling land to the topic of a 3rd buck tag.
I don't get it..... at all.
Well no kidding they loved their regs. Cell cams didn't exist. Gun hunting was shotguns, far better access, not everything was leased up, social media didn't exist, NR guys could draw every other year worst case, on and on.
Times have changed.
Have to start pulling back.
LOT acreage is one...
What is going on here? Covid vaccines, inflation, price of first houses, working at McDonald's, class warfare.
None of this has to do with a reg that is good for the herd. Zero.
When I said examples I meant specific quotes from specific people about "trying to hold the younger generation down" as you describe.
I am not following the logic in most of this anyway.
Is the regulation potentially good or bad for the resource (deer)? If it's good, them I'm all for it...
