    Morton buildings vs. all others

You pay a lot for the name & it's a complete crap-shoot what you get with Morton. They are a nationwide company so your quality is based on the crew that rolls up to your property. I'd call a local post-frame specific builder and have them take you to a couple projects in your area. Proline...

    Changed to Tactacam Reveal

https://wiseeyetech.com/product/dc-2/ I've run the DC-2's and had great luck. Dylan Kral with DK Taxidermy has some great deal going right now below MSRP so hit him up if you want to try a couple out. Send me a PM if you want his cell #, otherwise you can message him at the business or...

    Changed to Tactacam Reveal

and they don't need SD cards which is a lifesaver. So sick of those dang things lol and on most I'm running solar which is so much better than having to change batteries once it gets cold & you don't want to intrude into your property.

    Changed to Tactacam Reveal

I just switched over to WiseEye cameras, absolutely blown away. DK Custom Taxidermy is a dealer. For anybody running high #'s of cell cameras it can be a great money saver as they have a ranch option once you're over a dozen cameras. The 4k video to your phone is so wild and I've had zero issues...

    Late food plot prep

Daver - totally agree, a weedy plot can mean a lot of different things. In my mind I was thinking knee high. If it's 7' high horse weeds that's a major issue. If it's weeds/grass that will break down easily I'd mow it at several different heights and leave all the thatch in-place. If there's...

    Late food plot prep

I'm in a different camp. I would spray, seed, & fertilize it today if possible. Ideally cultipack but at least drag something through to get the seed/fertilizer down to the ground. After a few days I'd roll back through and mow on the backside.

    John Deere Drill for sale

I bought this drill basically sight unseen. Was told it was “all there”. When I rolled up to buy it from the gal it clearly wasn’t all there. Seed boxes are in great shape and could make somebody a solid project or a great parts drill. No clue what it’s worth. Shoot me an offer! Sent from...

A Straight Walled Gun for my Wife

Winchester Deer Season XP .350 Legend 150 Grain I haven't noticed a lack of blood because we've only blood trailed one. The others either dropped or we watched them plow 50 yards. My kids aren't high-level marksmen either so it's not because they're top-talent. All shots have been close too so...

A Straight Walled Gun for my Wife

Really surprised with the feedback on the 350 Legend. My kids have killed 8 deer with our Winchester 350 Legend. Dropped almost every single one in their tracks. Only a couple have even made it 50 yards. One made it almost 100. Might be because I've got the kids aiming directly at the "point"...

    Fencing Deer Movement

No doubt. Topography and swirling winds makes bow hunting our farm a real challenge. I just don't think using fencing makes me feel accomplished as a mature buck killer. I've been really blessed the last couple years with some great deer. 10 years ago I would have been running fence galore...

    Fencing Deer Movement

If it's legal I have no judgement. I paid for a consultation on my personal farm that was a waste of money. It revolved around a fence controlling exactly where deer could & couldn't enter my 3 acre plot. To give credit: it would have absolutely changed my farm from being extremely difficult...

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

I'm curious how many folks you know that harvest more than 1 buck per year on average with the current regulations? I have at least 10 close friends that are serious deer hunters. Another 20-30 I communicate with through a Snapchat group that originated from Iowa Whitetail. I don't know a...
