    IOWA DNR STATE Forest Nursery

Yellow River does ship or you can pick up in Marshfield, WI. I will say Scott is awesome to work with and there are no surprises. I highly recommend YR. However, trying to spread your dollars matters and looking to add some Arrowwood this year, so I think I will give the IDNR a shot with at...

    IOWA DNR STATE Forest Nursery

I'm considering saving some cash and buying some trees from IOWA DNR for next spring. In the past, I have used places like Morse Nursery and Yellow River Nursery and have good things to say about both. However, I'm looking at purchasing some Arrowwood (which I can't get from either commercial...

Persimmon planted and either tubed or caged.

Good luck. They aren't the most robust trees in my limited experience planting 2 years ago. I have some replacements coming this year on warranty. Iowa, being further south, should help.

    New switchgrass plot…

I wouldn't plant cave in, plant RC tecumseh or big rock

Would like to hear opinions on the most economical cellular camera plan when running about 15-20 cameras?

Stick with Spartan. Worth the little extra and the durability make up most of the difference over time.

    Nursery

Yellow River gets a thumbs up. I have also used Morse, they are expensive, but have a few species you won't find at Yellow River.

Looking for ideas on tree tubes…

Stakes-10ft 3/4 inch PVC (from Menards) cut in half worked well for me. Miracle tubes are worth the price unless you unlimited time to mess around with the knock offs.

    Your preference for switchgrass seed’

I frost seeded 3 aces of Tecumseh in late March into bean stubble. The seed is perfect for frost seeding being a little smaller. I intended to mow, spray etc, but never did. We essentially had no rain all summer, but it turned out great. It has some foxtail and lambs quarter in it that I'll...

    LWCG 0.5 OR .75.

Which one would you buy and with which seat? I have gift certificates, so has to be LWCG. Thinking of pairing with the solid 20 inch double steps. Im currently running a close to 20 year LW and sticks. Thoughts?

    Heated vest recommendations

Seems like there are several options out there. Is the bulk factor the main reason to go with the Pnuma? I was eyeing up the ORONO as it extends up into the neck as well. After seeing this post reconsidering the Pnuma (hadn't seen it with my initial searches).

    Best lighted knocks?

I have had them all fail. I like the Glory nocks best when they work. Much easier to turn on and off. Longevity just isn't a strength of any of them. I have not tried fire nocks.

NR DEER LICENSE - INCREASE $

Yeah, when the tag got north of some of the elk tag prices, my "demand" dwindled. I have enough points to go (at least I think they are still good), but can't see paying up like this for whitetails. Every year now for at least the last 5 years or so, I think about it, and ultimately decide...

    Deer Rooms

Nice rooms guys. Does that multi-colored pallet wood come that way or is it stained?

    2018 Keys to success

Cam pics. Went from never using them at all not that long ago to using them every week. Having the confidence to sit longer and in spots you might not otherwise be , bc you know a big buck is in the area is worth a lot. That and some persistence.

    New bow sight

Both have there pluses and minuses. Switched from a sword single pin to a spot Hogg hoggit 7 pin when I forgot to adjust the yardage on a elk hunt and shot wayunder a big 6×6. If I only hunted white tails a single pin might be the ticket.

    Storing Clothes Questions

Ha. Probably really doesn't matter much. Ground scent is what matters. I have went years without washing certain garments. Scent control equals wasted money.
