Are there 2 different forms of regular 2-4d available...amine and chloride?

    2-4D Amine on Enlist beans?

Hypothetically speaking, if guy sprayed a combo of gly and 2-4D amine on an Enlist bean plot that was looking kind of rough 2 weeks after planting, would it affect seeds that may not have germinated yet, or beans that were already up and of varying heights (0-4")?

Notices must be going out. I just got an email from my local office stating that my acres were accepted.

Anyone using a DR walk behind brush mower for timber management?

I would say it is working as expected. My intention was to use it to open up areas that are too choked up with thorns, and to reach areas that I can’t get to with the brush hog and tractor. I’ll go back in with Crossbow to finish them off when the sprout back. 0.25 acres down…75.75 acres to go.

    Switch grass is too thick.

That is one thing I have been thinking of.

    Switch grass is too thick.

I'm in the 6th year of ownership of my farm, which consists of 20+ acres of CRP on the south side, and 80 acres of timber on the north. In the 1st year, the 20 acres of CRP was in pretty poor shape, so my first project was killing it off and drilled Switch back in. Fast forward to today...I...

Anyone using a DR walk behind brush mower for timber management?

I found a slightly used DR one with a 26" cut for $1K. If it doesn't work on MFR, I'm sure I can find other areas to use it on...tree plantings, electric fence, cutting paths through switch, etc.

I was just told by my local office that the application that I just submitted won't be looked at and hopefully approved by late summer. So, the acres we are enrolling now won't be converted back into habitat until next spring?

Anyone using a DR walk behind brush mower for timber management?

I had thought about that, but would need to hire some professionals. I have 25 acres of switch that we manage with fire, but the timber burn may be out of my league. I would be worried about it getting into the switch, or the neighbors....or burning for longer than I can babysit it.

Anyone using a DR walk behind brush mower for timber management?

I've been looking at options for managing the MF Rose in my 85 acres of timber. I intend to incorporate spraying as the kill method, but I think I will also need to get it mulched eventually. Hiring someone with a Skidsteer and mulcher has been explored, but could be cost prohibited....and I...

I think that the higher the CSR, the higher the rate/acre. If his CSR was low=lower cash rate.

My paperwork is getting signed tomorrow at $238/acre for Washington County with a CSR of 67. I was getting $250/acre cash rent when it was farmed. I'll be able to but in 2.5 acres (10%) in food plots.

The county FSA office has been working with me on this, and that is the solution they came up with to assure me that it would get into the program without having to gamble on a second round of sign up, if there are still acres left to get to the cap. The acres were in the program until 2021...

I purchased an ajoining 26 acres tillable to my 95 timber/CRP piece last spring (closed 4/18). The neighbor was going to sell off large lots for houses. I rented it to the previous owner for 2025 because you have to own a piece for 1 year prior to putting it back into CRP. This year, I still...

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

Cell cameras help an individual monitor deer on his/her property. How does that effect how many "Giant Deer" you see on your property? Maybe when he jumps the fence, but you would also have your own "Giant Deer". I guess I'm in the camp that getting rid of cell cameras isn't the answer.
