Got out for my 1st solo hunt of the year this morning. Been great with the kids, but man it was nice to be by myself!
Yesterday I knew a bird left field 1 (where Alex shot his) and transitioned to field 2 (main strut zone) so I set up just off field 2 in a nice green area off some cedars. This guy has likely been traveling this route every morning this spring because he sure didn't show much fear.
Pretty morning with the frost. He even had a "beardsicle" from frozen dew on his beard. Very cool as I've never seen that before. Was done about 0645 think. Limb hanger spurs and had 5 missing/broken fan feathers. Great morning.
