I'm against rifles being added to shotgun season.
I'm against crossbows being added to archery season without valid medical reason, per hunter.
* Even though I see a huge advantage of bow over crossbow being that I can get off a 2nd shot MUCH easier.
I'm against additional seasons being created.
I'm against any gun season ever overlapping prime rut.
I support residential landowners having the ability to buy 3 anysex tags annually.
I support party shotgun hunting practices.
@iowavf made a good point. "Those concerned about people killing too many trophy bucks, then go one step further, no hunting during peak time of the rut?"
If we're so concerned about growing trophy bucks state wide that we're willing to drop my ability to buy 3 anysex tags down to 1 tag annually, then where do we re-draw that line in the sand, and who's got the authority to do so? Once we start re-drawing established lines, the flood gates tend to open.
Why not eliminate all hunting during the rut?
Why not ban all optics from muzzle loaders? (Open sights only.)
Why not ban all optics from all guns?
Why not ban compound bows and carbon or aluminum arrows all together? (Traditional archery equipment only.)
Why not make it a 1 anysex tag every 5 years, per person?
Etc.
Let's really tighten the screws on anyone else who isn't a trophy hunter above all else.
Don't get me wrong guys, I pass on a majority of the deer that come within range just like most of you, and I LOVE hanging a new favorite memory on my wall, but I get SUPER TOUCHY when people start trying to take my rights away. I recognize a slippery slope when I see one.
