2 bucks

Biggest antlers I've seen in my area in 2 years. These guys show up about every 4 days & always in the dark. One is a high rack, I like the split G2 & his other G2 is going to have a sticker. The other is almost an exact duplicate of a buck I have pics of from a few years ago, but that buck was taken that winter. The rack is low & wide & will have minimal tine length.

I usually run cameras only in the fall. This is my 1st summer running cameras. I can't believe how much antlers grow in a month.

I have problem of bucks coming through between 11pm & 5am during bow season. And during the rut they are no where to be seen. The only decent bucks I've harvested are just random bucks that I've never seen before & generally come through only because the combines are pushing them around.

Hey, whatever works, works! Do you have much food on the property? If so, put the trail cams on field scan and there has to be bucks checking does during the pre-rut during daylight.

That's typically a sign of heavy hunting pressure by either you or the neighbors. The positive thing is that you don't have to hold the deer to kill them. Some of the best properties are ones with defined travel corridors regardless of size.

I have the same problem on one of the farms I hunt, and it has nothing to do with hunting pressure…I don't know of anyone who bowhunts within a mile of it. On this particular farm I think it has to do with cover. It's a great area, and we had an excellent food plot on it, but once the crops came out I think it's just a little too "open" for deer to want to be there during daylight hours. My daughter shot her buck on the farm during early ML, and not long after that we just quit hunting it…only nighttime pics. Good luck!
