2006-07 options, WJS?

WJS,
When will options discussed be considered and announced? How quick will we know about the success of the extra tags, Thanksgiving anterless, and the extended rifle season? Would you like to give a report or try to rank the options discussed as- probable, possible, not likely, or never?

The deer seasons aren't even over yet, so the finall results of this years harvest haven't been tallied.

However, there are several committees studying proposals to increase the NR deer and turkey tags right now.

Even more onteresting is that the DNR has already said thay they believe they have reduced the deer population by the 25% that they had wanted to.

They are already studying and I received a bow hunting report survey last week for my state wide and county specific bow tags..... Hard to study the seasons impact without the facts.

I would say they are in the process of number crunching the surveys. I recieved a landowners license questionaire about three weeks ago. Funny thing was that late antlerless season was still open and I had recieved a late antlerless only LOT. I emailed WJS about this and he stated they were sending out a seperate questionaire for the late antlerless season and I might get one (randomly sent). I didn't get one.

I'm really curious about those questions also pharmer. I know they do areial surveys also, which are best done with snow cover. I often wonder how well those work in the thick cedars around my place?
I've heard some people say they feel "they thinned em out a bit" but...
when we had snow the coyote hunters walked thru my section and counted nearly 100 deer coming out the other side.
Friday nite I counted at least 20 in a 1/4 mile stretch waiting to cross the road to feed.
I only see one area of this state though, so it will be interesting and I hope WJS will keep us informed.
