2010 Neb & Texas Gobblers!

It all started in Ogallala Neb late April on the Platte River with shotguns. Four tags to fill in 2 days, NO problem!
God I love the Merriams!

When the tags were filled we drove on to Shamrock Texas for a chance at a Rio with our bows! Four tags to fill in 2 days, 50% filled! Not too shabby.

All in all it was a great week spent with great friends in 2 states and 3 of us are one step closer to the slam! Bring on Florida next year!

Very nice indeed! I'm still haunted by that big ol' Rio tom hanging up 60 yards away in south Texas last spring! Can't wait for April!!

Is that your son that just moved to Tucson? I can tell him where to get into the Merriam's down here and how to make sure he gets drawn every spring (yeah, lottery for turkeys, too ).
