2013 Minnesota Deer Classic

Just so happened I was in the twin cities this weekend for a regional swim meet for my son Carson ... Thought I should check out the other classic while I was here :grin:

Overall it was much much smaller show across the board yet there were a few great deer killed by our neighbors to the North as well as some other great sites as well!! Check out the pics ...

Onecam-thanks for photos, we do shoot some nice ones, not as many though. There are quite a few MN based hunting companies so the show usually has plenty of vendors.

There were a couple of giant NT killed this year!

I went to the MN deer classic yesterday with my dad. We hadn't gone in many years...decided to go this year because the classic was just sold to new ownership and was held at a new venue (Blaine Sports Center).

I've got to say we were both very disappointed after walking out of the show. We were expecting a little more...pretty small scale as someone mentioned above. There were definitely a few dandy bucks in there. A couple NT in the 200" range. Real whoopers!

The best part for me was seeing the world record 8 pt that was poached in Canon Falls a few years back. That rack is unbelievable. I just kept thinking what it would be like to walk up on a shed like that.

Thanks for posting those pictures. Like others, I haven't gone in 5 or 6 years. It's almost embarrassing compared to other states to what we have. This state has so much potential to be like Iowa or wisconsin but it never will because they will never move the gun season out of the rut. If it wasn't for individual deer management this state would be a lot worse than it already is.
