2024 Buck - 7.5 years in the making…..

Wow world class. The taxidermy bill just keeps growing in your house it appears charlie is the lucky charm this year! Congrats

Congrats and thanks for sharing!! Even my wife looking over my shoulder said that’s a big one! Charlie got to see something only a few hunters ever will and that is awesome!! How far did he relocate?
Probably a mile. He was timid & he had a lot of other folks after him. Probably had some pressure that he didn’t tolerate. In 7 years - he’s never been in the area he relocated to. The area he found - no pressure & thick nasty secluded cover

Super impressive. Can't believe, well I can, that you passed him at 5 scoring 207. Maybe the biggest free range buck that's ever been passed??

U guys know im not “that guy” ….. its not the biggest buck passed because ive done this a few times now. ;). I passed one that was into 200’s & he got sick next year & shot him & he was 190’s & maybe 130 lbs dressed. Passed a 210” that coyotes got. Passed a low 200’s that ended at 213” about 7-8 years ago. I wouldn’t ever say this stuff on social media. I’ll mention it here cause we know eachother & know it’s 0 about ego. & only a few guys are gonna read this 3 pages in here too :). Curtis sat on a spot I passed a gigantic typical - I believe he saw it as well. That one got killed by another buck - game warden called & got a call & it had a tine hole in his neck :(.
Win some, lose some.
Heck, first year I hunted my 80 acres in Jefferson/van buren - early 2000’s ….. I shot a 170’s buck. Got my LO tag & next day I filmed a “giant” with a slight “limp”. Called him “Limper”. Neighbor called “dude, I got a giant!!” I said “did he have a limp?” “YA!!!!” Ya- that buck was 197. Ha!!! I regretted that one & I still get made fun of to this day passing a 197 on 80 acres.
Then there’s the years where a guy goes “I dont know of anything bigger than 150’s!!” Over this many years - good handful of bucks etched into my mind. & to this day I still say I saw a NET typical in Schuyler co IL that would out score Milo Hansen buck. That was also like 25 years ago. I had no chance as that buck stared me down for 10 minutes at about 75 yards. Bro saw him too. Ghosts of the past!!!!!

Schuyler was a great county (mostly ruined now by regulations). My neighbor and I both had a 200 inch deer living on our farms there in 2012. Both bucks died that fall of EHD.
