21-22 Pheasant Season

Season started off decent this morning with a short quick walk. Took Rob out hoping to get him his first pheasant with no luck unfortunately. No wind makes it hard to get birds to sit tight. Feel free to share your successes in this thread as well.

I was part of a group that ended up joining with another group, which I wasn’t thrilled about, big groups make me nervous. Anyway, we hunted a big block together and then split up and hunted a couple properties separately. Finished at 11:00 with 62 birds, one shy of our limit. The picture has 55 of them in it. It was a very special day!

That’s a lot of birds.What part of the state were you hunting?

If you had 21 in your group, how many did the other group get? Or was that total for both?

We were in the central part of the state. And the total was both groups. We had 21 guys in all, my group was going to be 9 until the meet up.

Slick/Curtis those are some good looking dogs you have. My 12 year old lab has bad back legs and can't run like she used to. She's still good for a half hour hunt here and there. We managed to get 1 today.

We’ve been getting some birds in Minnesota. My lab is young but getting better !

We have had some decent success in central IA. The last time we went out (Friday after Thanksgiving) we shot our 5 man limit before noon. No pics with my lab. Great family dog, but he is afraid of his own shadow so not much for hunting
