22-250 Coyote Loads

Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you had any good reccommendations for factory 22-250 loads for coyotes. I shot a couple of yotes last night with my new tikka 3 and I was not impressed with the 55 grain remington coreloks. All of them traveled a LONG ways before expiring. I want something that is going to explode inside of them leaving a short track job.I don't care about the pelt. Thanks in advance.

55 gr vmax. just dont shoot them in the shoulder or youll get some splash.

My guns has shot the best with Nosler Ballistic Tip 40gr bullets and Varget Powder. They scream out there about 4000 fps at the muzzel. I am looking into a new gun and may have to play around with another load tho.

Right on. Been shootin them for years and most of the time they get rolled.

I have been getting great feedback from any of the Hornady loads for any gun. Premium ammo for more normal range of prices. Be prepared for a shock if you haven't bought ammo in a while. All ammo went up almost 30% last year alone so be prepared to spend a little more.

I shoot 45 grain Winchester Hollow points there cheap and i have never had one take another step!!!

I shoot a .223, but the V-Max handloads seem to do very well. Anything that was hit right was DRT.

I shoot the vmax's in black hills gold out of my .223. The best out of the box ammo I have found. Most every yote I hit is DRT. I have some nosler ballistic tip handloads that will pattern in a dime at two hundred, seriously. It is unbelievable. Only problem is I have to wait for my buddy Dave to make me up a new batch. Droptine37 shoots winchester supreme silvertips out of his 22-250. If he ever hits a coyote I will let you know how they work.

Maybe Droptine37 should try to tackle the coyotes instead of shooting at them, he's pretty good at that!

I shoot Federal American Eagles out of my 223. 50grn jacketed hollow point and it drops them. Very cheap to shoot and always accurate.
