Friday morning was a picture perfect day in the turkey woods, and like thede18, I was making good use of a final personal day. With birds gobbling in literally every direction, I sat in the double bull trying to coax something within bow range. I worked on this guy for over an hour, and had almost given up on him when he finally committed to the decoys and gave me a 12 yard shot. I pulled the shot a few inches left, but as he ran off I could see he couldn't fly. I left him for an hour or so, and found him laying in a deadfall a short distance away. I don't think he could go anywhere, but a follow up shot from short range ended it.
Stats: 21.5 lbs, 9 inch beard, spurs both right at an inch. Very typical 2 year bird the way it looked to me.
