Got this young deer on my camera yesterday. Wonder what caused this - trauma or birth defect??

Weird. Looks healthy though. Wonder if it got some wire wrapped around it?

A few years back a buddy if mind had a trail cam picture of one that had it cut up all the way to its shoulder. I don't know what causes it tho.

my guess is a hay-conditioner or a sickle mower got him when he was a small fawn.
